Re: La Quinta
We had a hotel block here. It was mostly bad. Our guests rooms were good. Clean and good sized. We had the bridal suite. It was a huge and pretty room. However, we had a serious problem with the fridge (it smelled like sour milk). They sent someone to look at it. All he did was wipe it down with a rag and left. So, my whole BP got to enjoy the smell (as well as us on our wedding night). They didn't offer anything to make up for is (and at $279 a night, they should have).
Also, they kept goofing up my block! They put my guests under other blocks. I had to literally ask all my guests if they blocked a room...then I had to go over my list name by name with LQ's group sales manager.
OH-LQ also boasts a 'bar' thats open til 2 am. It was literally just that...1 little bar with barely any drinks to offer. It was a very sad bar...but we made our own fun.
Also, they didn't give half of my guests their OOT bags! We spent a lot of $$ on them..and barely anyone got them!
Also, since I had blocked the rooms (1 year in advance) LQ went through 4 group sales managers....4!!! I was so tired of dealing with new people who would tell me something different than the previous person in their position!
Hope this helps you, they really blew it with me!

Re: La Quinta
I'm on google maps now and there are about 6 hotels 'near' the sand castle. I don't know if any have shuttels...but thats easy to ask. I'm making a list and will send it when i'm done.

I was booked with them but changed to a different hotel (Hilton in Westbury). They would give me the shuttle if we booked 10 rooms (we don't have many OOT guests) if not they charged about 100 or so each way. Then I read some not so great reviews (girls had their rooms given away) so I didn't want to be bothered with that stress

Re: La Quinta
We used them for our room block and they were great. The bridal suite was huge and b/c we booked so many rooms it was free the night of the wedding. They also left us champagne and chocolates for when we returned from our reception.

Re: La Quinta
I posted a list of hotels near the sand castle on the BHB board. I basically used google maps and looks for any hotel in the area. Hope it helps.

Re: La Quinta
We are using them-- it is $139 a night for guests and a shuttle is provided. My sister used them for her wedding and everything was great!
