LA to San Fran

LA to San Fran

Has anyone traveled between the 2 cities? if so, how did you get from one to another. we are trying to plan a trip and would like to go to san fran afterwards but dont have too much time to spend getting their. i want to make it as easy as possible, as i am traveling with 9 people.

any ideas? i am looking up trains now, but wanted to hear opinions on those who have done this.

I live in LA so this is my opinion. I drove to San Fran and back. Going there, we took the scenic route along the Pacific Coast Highway. It's a beautiful drive but very long. About 8 hours or so. Going back home, we took a freeway through the cities and it took about 4.5 hours. Obviously the quickest way is to fly but the drive through the I-5 isn't bad!
