Re: Lab Breeders
i dont know of any, BUT i swear to you North Shore Animal League ALWAYS has a TON of purebred labs (& lab mix) puppies available.... Please try there first.....not for nothing, when me & my fiance were there checking out for a dog we actually were talking about hoiw many labs there were. just check it out before you look for a breeder... i'm SURE theyll have puppies around 3 months old... thats how i got my lab!
ETA: i just checked out their site... look at all these LAB pups they have right now!!!!!

Re: Lab Breeders
I wouldn't get a lab from NSAL - my girlfriend did and spent $2000 in medical bills.Labs are prone to hip problems among others and need to be OFA certified and also the parents should be registered with the AKC. A reputable breeder will give you a health guarantee with the purchase of your pup.
We got our lab from Gaeta Creek Labs out in Ridge - www.gaetacreek.com. Gina and her husband are wonderful breeders - its not a puppy mill and they always have pups available. We dealt mostly with Gina as her husband handles more of the show dogs aspect of their pups. She was wonderful and let me go out to the house to meet all the dogs and see the setup. I am extremely happy with my little (well big) guy and would definitely get another dog from her. You can kinda see Cosmo in my avatar pic.
If you have any questions please feel free to FM me!!!!!

Re: Lab Breeders
just because one lab had alot of vet bills doesnt mean all of them will..... my lab mix came from NSAL and NEVER had one thing wrong with him and he's like 8.also... PUREbred labs are prone to hip problems.... whether from a breeder or shelter..... thats why getting a lab mix would be better for that reason, if thats a major concern....
AKC means nothing.... thats if you want to show your dog.... being an AKC registered dog doesnt mean he wont have health problems.
if you plan on SHOWING your Lab, i suggest you go through a reputable breeder such as the one listed above, but MAKE sure to ask.... some breeders make you sign an agreement that you can not enter your dog in such events as dog shows..etc... BUT if you want your lab for a pet/companion only, DON'T waste your money getting one from a breeder.
