Labor Day Wedding

Labor Day Wedding

We are getting married on Labor Day this year, and when we first planned it, it didn't bother me because we are the only wedding that day at our venue so we could start anytime we wanted to and I really liked that idea and every Saturday that worked for us was booked. We wanted to get married on our anniversary date, but of course that was booked as well, so we have to choose something else. Then on top of that, my parents booked a cruise for the middle of September (the month we wanted to get married in) so we could really only pick weekends before that because I wanted my mom to be around beforehand. Now I keep feeling like people are going to be upset that it is on a Monday and they have work the next day. I know it sort of works like a Sunday, but people complain about Sundays as well. So I don't know what to think and now I am really regretting it. I never even looked into Friday nights, and I really wish I had done so now. :(

Just needed to vent a bit I guess...

People complain about everything. They say weddings on Sunday are cheaper and that's why people do them then but its not true. I picked a Sunday also and I am paying top dollar like it is a Saturday but many people who are not going through this process don't know how excessive the prices have gotten. People complain that a wedding starts at 11 on Sat or Sun, then people complain that it starts at 6 on a Fri because they get out of work at 5, then on Saturdays people leave by 12 when the wedding isn't over till 1...People always complain so don't worry...be happy with your choice because in the end people are always going to say something....booo to them!!

I agree with the post above, I went to a Sunday night wedding and it was one of the best Iv been to. Work the next didn't stop anyone from dancing and having a good time. The floor was packed.

I went to a Labor Day wedding last year, it was during the day and over by 6. People shouldn't complain about that.

I agree as well. You will never make everyone happy, so I say....do what's right for you and your FH....it is YOUR day, everything will fall into place.

Don't fret! People chose different days for economical reasons, and we picked a Sunday evening for the price as well as preference for an evening affair. As other have said, people will always complain, even if you had it Sat afternoon. Don't let this bother you, the people who matter will be there!

I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY

Everyone has a opinion and wants to put their two sense in. Listen and respectfuly decline. My MIL would love it if we did everything she wanted. But this is our wedding and just like every other option you have in life you have to do what makes you happy because you will always have to live with one person YOUR SELF so on your wedding day you do what you want because after it is all over you want to say you did it the way you wanted
