Labor Day wedding??
Okay so I was planning on 9/5/15 which the Saturday of Labor Day, I have heard mixed reviews about holiday weekends. If the date is a Saturday does it get priced as a normal Saturday or Friday since we have Sunday and Monday off... Any help or quotes are appreciated, we are looking into venues in Nassau County.

I'm actually booked for 9/5/15, and it was priced as a normal Saturday or Friday price at most places I went to. We chose it mainly because my entire half of the guest list will be traveling and this way they won't have to rush home the day after the wedding to get to work.

Something to keep in mind for a holiday weekend wedding is that you are also asking friends and family to travel on a weekend where flights will be more expensive and road traffic will be much heavier. I'm mentioning this because I'm the one who lives far from everyone and while it's nice to have that extra day as a holiday I think people forget the added expense of traveling around holiday weekends. I'd rather just take the day off myself and avoid the travel hassle.

i am getting married the friday of labor day weekend. prices seem to be the same for me, but i am being sensitive to the holiday by alerting people of things earlier than i would if the wedding was just on a random weekend.however, i am also running into issues like hotels already being booked, etc. because so many others are also having events that weekend.

I'm getting married on a holiday (4th of July not Labor Day) and our venue price was the same as any other Friday in July. One thing I am happy about is that my OOT guests will have the whole weekend after to travel back home. My hotel block did seen to be slightly more for the holiday night but not enough to be considered ridiculous really.

We are the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. We also have a lot of people traveling, and figured they would be staying a few days anyway so we aren't too concerned about having it on a Friday. We are paying normal price for a Friday event, I think that is pretty standard. The only change I have seen is sometimes Sundays are priced at Saturday rates. I think because it isn't a major holiday like Christmas or Thanksgiving, traveling won't be too hectic.

i'm booked sunday of memorial weekend and they gave me sunday pricing at my venue... every other venue i contacted charged me saturday pricing though since monday is a day off.i think holiday weekend weddings are amazing because most of your out of town friends and family would be more willing to make the trip since it's a longer weekend and more time to visit..
I also picked the sunday because we were able to have our rehearsal on saturday, making travel for our bridal party easier. We have a few out of towners in the bridal party and didn't want them to have to take off work on thurs or friday for the rehearsal. so now everyone can still work the regular workweek, and then fly in and stay through monday!

I thought about travel but most of my guests live in New York and the few that don't will travel the week before. Thankfully it won't be a deal breaker!Welcome New Vendors
