ladies

For those of you who do not have on fake nails, do you plan on putting some on for your wedding? I am unsure of this. My nails usually grow long and I can get a manicure on them but what if they break? What are you ladies doing?

I have always been a fan of the natural look so I plan on getting a french mani on my nails. Hopefully I wont break any!!

Re: ladies

It's up for debate with me. When I get a manicure it only lasts a couple of days, so I would want to get maybe a thin coat of acrylic over my nails to keep the polish from chipping so they look decent for the honeymoon.

Oh and if they break...I went to a nail salon in queens for my cousins wedding with a broken nail and they actually made my nail longer. It looked completly natural! I will try to find out what it is called!

I keep going back and fourth with this. I much prefer the natural look but I'm so afraid of breaks and chips

Can anyone recommend something natural looking fake nails? I did the UV and hated it

I never use fake nails, and the idea of nail salons skeeve me. Luckily, I'm in your boat, and my nails grow long naturally.

If by some chance one of them breaks or is a little uneven, ehh. If it's not that big a difference, I'll leave them. If it's really different, i'll cut them all down. The short nail look can be very chic too. I'll probably just do my own polish, because I highly doubt that anyone will really be looking at my nails lol.

i always get manicures and im just hoping for the best ... i hate fake nails just because they mess up my nails sooo bad. have you ever used duri rejovacote? i bought this under and top coat nail polish at my nail place and it helps your nails grow anddd it helps them not chip so quickly ... i love this stuff ... i bought it for $10 a bottle and it lasted a while. i really did see a difference ... i work at an embroidery store and if i dont get my nails done or put something on them they break like crazy ... this stuff makes them really strong.

Well i get a manicure every week & a pedicure like every 2/3 weeks in the summer 1x a month in teh winter. I never put anything fake on my nails. Id rather cut my nails down if one breaks. They grow back & so if my nails are short in my pics oh well. I mean if it seriously low then maybe i would consider it but id really rather not. I dont put wraps nothing my nails are the real deal.

BTW im doing a pink french for my day with baby's breath tip because my dress is ivory

I have silk wraps on my nails, I work with my hands and they tend to break easily, the silk keeps them looking good for a while. I enjoy getting my nails done, I'm most likely going to do a french manicure for the wedding, that's something you'd want to look nice as you'll probably be showing your rings throughout the day!!!!

I get a manicure once a week and will continue to do so until the wedding. I plan on getting a french manicure the day of the wedding.

Re: ladies

I am keeping natural nails (my mom is so against this) and either getting a natural pink (like ballet slippers) or go with a french manicure.

I had fake nails on for years and have never been so happy as the day I took them off.

I never wear fake nails... I HATE the feeling when I leave them on for a few months of how thin my reals nails are when I take them off... But, for my wedding I WILL be getting them added on. I have short little fingers...so the nails do make my fingers look a bit longer... and if my hands are going to be picutured up close and personal...I'd want them to look the abolute bestest!

I dont wear fake nails but, thats the only way nailpolish would stay on my nails. My nails chip with in hours or by water touch, I hate it. I heard of some gel thing they can do on your nails. Im gonna check it out before the wedding and decide on if I like it.

I have not decided it I am going to do the permanent french extension yet. If not I will do French Manicure with my own nails. They had just started growing and have become stronger then ever. I am using Sally Hanson 'Hard as Wrap ' nail polish it is really good the color does not chip and it feels like you have wraps on your nails.

I'm just going to get a french manicure the night before the wedding, Im sure they will be fine. I used to have my nails really long and wrapped but I just don't like that look anymore. If they're short for the wedding then I can do a glue manicure so they can extend one of them but I always have decent length nails so hopefully they'll be fine for the wedding.

FYI....I buy nailtiques and apply it twice a week, it really helps keep nails healthy and they rarely break.

i dont have fake nails and didnt have fake nails for the wedding either. Luckily my nails grow very long and very quickly. I just made sure to be very careful before the wedding. If 1 or 2 nails break before the wedding just get silk wrapping for those 1 or 2 nails.

Make sure to always keep nail polish on them, when they get long they get weaker and a bit softer so the polish helps keep them stronger and less likely to break. Try to regularly get a regular manicure just to make sure your cuticles are cut and that your nails are filed properly. Many times when they break its can be bc of a hang nail or bc they arent filed right. You might also want to use nailtique on your nails to keep them strong.

thats weird bc it shouldn't chip that easily. What type of nail polish are you using? also how many coats do you put on? do you use basecoat before putting the nailpolish on and then top coat after the nailpolish is applied.
