Ladies - I need info. UPDATE

Please. I found out I was pregnant on 8/25. Calculating by my last period (mid-July) the dr estimated me @ 6 weeks at that time which would have made me 8.5 this week. Just went for my first sono and all there is is a gestational sac which would either make me 5 weeks pregnant or I don't have a viable pregnancy. DH and I didn't actually start BD until the 2nd week of August which would make the 5 weeks accurate. The dr. feels it's a viable prenancy because I've had 3 blood tests since I found out and my HCG levels keep rising. I'm just worried...Anyone have any info????

Update: I went for my 2nd sono today. The sac has grown, and my hcg levels are up, but there is no heartbeat. The dr. has estimated my sac @ 5.8 weeks and is not optimistic this will be a viable pregnancy although he is not giving up hope yet. He is sending me for another beta test tomorrow AM and if the #'s are still rising then I go for another sono in 1 week. My ? for you is.... how far along were you when it became more than a sac and you saw the heartbeat??

I think the rising number on the bloodwork are a good sign, and the doctor seems confident so I would believe in that rather than a guess on dates - the bloodwork is more concrete.

Well it could be a couple of things.

You could have a blighted ovum
You could be 5 weeks prego and the baby is just not visible yet
You could have O'd REALLY late and your BD worked!!!

If you do have a blighted ovum your levels will continue to rise...

If you and DH did conceive the 2nd week in Aug then you would be 5 wks prego now like the sono showed...

How long are your cycles? are they consistant?

I had a scare with the same thing, but the heartbeat appeared the next week the fact that your hormones are rising is a very good sign mine did the same thing... Try to relax although I didn't until the heartbeat

Thanks for the encouraging info... It is so hard to relax and now I have to wait until next Thurs for my next sono. My cycle is usually about 35 days instead of 28 and I'm pretty sure I was ovulating the 2nd week in Aug when I think we conceived. DH is pretty positive that the dr just screwed up the dates... it's just going to be hard until the next sono... thanks so much for all the info

I have a long cycle too... And the same thing happened... Try to relax go the movies, anything that will distract your mind

When is your next sono? You should be able to see a baby and a HB in 2 weeks.

from experience through some of my friends who are TTC or recently pregnant, it has been said from their docs that a baby is not visible at 5 weeks, because its too early. A hearetbeat should be able to be seen at 7 weeks.

I saw a baby and HB at 7 wks 4 dys with both pregnancies. I REALLY hope this works out for you!

I too had a sono at 5 weeks and there was only a sac - no heartbeat. I saw the heartbeat at almost 7 weeks. Hang in there and try not to worry (I know that seems impossible) - good luck to you!!
