...because of my first fitting tonite. as you know, i'm a plump woman....(large and in charge)...and i am usually pretty confident. BUT the idea of trying on my gown for the first time tonite, is kind of freaking me out.
my gown is strapless, and i have fat arms. i know this, my mirror knows this...and when i ordered the gown i thought it looked good. but then my mom & brother were like 'you got STRAPLESS? sure that's a good idea?' (my family sux balls)
what if i put on the gown and think 'i'm a big fat marshmallow!' (bridezilla style!)
i need hugs and comfort ladies, i'm wigging out big time!!!!

You are just being silly! You are going to look gorgeous. It looked great when you tried on the sample and I am sure it is going to look even better when it's your size and tailored. You are going to look so beautiful that no one is going to be zeroing in on your arms so stop the crazy talk!!! If it makes you feel better maybe you can get some type of wrap, it's going to be cold in Feb anyway.

Its normal to be a little nervous but think about it. No one is going to be saying look at her arms. They are all going to be saying how beautiful the bride looks. We are our own worst enemies and no matter how confident a person is there is always a little doubt that sneaks in. Don't worry you will look beautiful in your dress so just smile and enjoy it.

I think you are beautiful and your are going to look absoutly stunning in your wedding dress on your wedding day. All that matters is that YOU like your dress...who cares about the opinions of others. You got that dress becuase you loved it and looked good in it. Id love to see pics when you get back

You will look stunning! I was hesitant to get a strapless dress for the same reason, but my dress lady kept insisting I try one on and she was right! Sometimes the sleeves or straps accentuate your arms and if you are self conscious about them the strapless is the best! Also the fingertip veil made me feel more comfortable! Try that!!!
NOBODY will be looking at your arms! They will be looking at your gorgeous face and happy smile!
Your mom and brother were probably just shocked bc you never choose that style.
Don't worry, you will be beautful!!!

Listen you loved the gown the day you found it...no one else matters. Confidence is the secret to beauty...when you put it on and you feel beautiful, you will shine... A LITTLE EXTRA WEIGHT OR NONE... The way UUUU feel is what makes that dress work.. strapless or sleeves, it doesn't matter people can be shallow and if that is their focus... F**CK UM.....BUT COME ON...if you were feeling strapless...screw everyone else....

Try that dress on with pride and when you have it on, you and only you will know how you feel in it.
Worse comes to worse, they can always add a little sleeve or something if you are more comfortable.

I agree. I think you will look beautiful. And if you are that uncomfortable, ask them to add a cap sleeve or something to make you feel better.

You will look gorgeous. I also got a strapless dress and don't love my arms. I'm sure everyone is a little self conscious about some aspect of their dress. Be happy and enjoy the experience of trying on YOUR dress for the very first time. Post pics we want to see!!!!

I know exactly how you feel. I am a plus size woman and have the same insecurities. But I will tell you this -- you are going to look GORGEOUS in your dress. There was a reason you picked your dress -- it made you feel confident and beautiful. I can guarantee you are going to have those same feelings tonight when you put the dress on.

Listen, big arms is every girls problem. My arms are huge!! If you think your arms look big with a strapless there are lots of options. You can have a jacket made, you can have them sew on cap sleeves. You can get some streachy lace material and have them make sleeves. You can get a wrap made. Don't freak out.

Try it and see how you like it, if you are still uncomfortable maybe try a shrug or a capelet with it.

You are beautiful so I agree withthe other ladies stop it! There will always be someone with an opinion during your wedding process but if you saw the dress and you felt like it was the one then it was the one! The purpose of the fitting is to make the dress custom fit to you so you make the dress the dress doesn't make you. You seem to be a very confident person and people will only see how beautfiul you are on that day.
ETA: BTW I wouldn't put a shawl on either I think it would take away from the beauty of whatever dress you chose.

I just went through a lot of the same thoughts before I went dress shopping for the first time! Trust me, I know how you feel!!!
But if the dress made you feel beautiful and feel like a bride when you found it, I'm willing to bet you will feel the same way at your fitting today.
ITA with the other ladies, you have a couple of months to go.... there's lots of arm toning exercises you can do (and I sure plan to do!) that will help if you are worried.
And the seamstress can add sleeves if you want ... I personally didn't like the way the cap sleeves felt ... but maybe a little lacey bolero jacket or something, so you can take it off later in the night if you want to.
I'd love to see pics when you get back if you want to post 'em

He thinks your beautiful in everything and everyway and u need to remember it just because ur a bigger girl dosnt make u any less beautiful im a bigger girk to and i love my dress and i dont care if people think i look fat u have to be confident in yourself no matter what and u will enjoy the ENTIRE experience! cheer up ur a beautiful woman dont forget it because of a wedding dress

Girl, familys suck! They always know exactly what to say to make us feel like sh!t! Just brush it off!! Though I've never met you, I can see from just reading your posts, that you are a woman of confidence. You are a beautiful girl inside and out. You are sassy, sarcastic and full of love. Truth be told, anyone can look at your makeup trial pics and see how friggin gorgeous you are!!
The only person who needs to worry about your arms is you!! F*ck anyone who has an opinion! I think that any of us girls that are 'large and in charge' as you say, need to just take a step back and realize that we are who we are, and that skinny or not- we are beautiful! Our FH's love us and that extra meat to grab!
So, chin up sweetie! You are going to look HOT!! I think adding sleeves would cut your arm and make it look chubbier. Try on that gown, slap on a veil and smile big. Your FH will be blown away when he sees you walking down that aisle!!
