Talk to Ken Hild. He's definitely affordable and so amazing! If you'd like I can FM you his package and quote that I got :)
And I have NO idea what the negative DVD mean... usually they just say 'Hi Res photos on DVD'

Def sounds like a good price to me! Sounds like you would be getting a DVD with all your negative images? Not quite sure.

2012er crashing. It is a good price but in my opinion 6 hours is no where near enough time. My photographer was with me 13 hrs the day of my wedding. Even if you have the ceremony at the reception hall your wedding is at least 5 1/2 hours so that only leaves 1/2 hour for pictures before and that half hour you are normally in the bridal suite waiting for the ceremony to start.

Sounds like none of your images would be edited. Also, 30 images for a book doesn't sound like a lot. How much to add?

Negatives are all the photos that he hasn't edited...like if the photographer takes 3000 pictures, the negatives are all those raw images...normally. I don't know if he meant something different.
I definitely think you can do better, and most companies don't include all the negatives in the price like that's a bonus, you'll probably wind up hating most of them if the photographer didn't even like them enough to edit them.

6 hours also isn't really that much time. Our photographer is coming to my house at 2:30pm an hour before our ceremony for pics of the bridal party and stuff, then in between the ceremony and reception we are taking pics at mill neck manor then the cocktail hour/reception begins at 7pm. By that point I would already have my photographer for almost 5 hours. And I would want the photographer for the whole night because then they would leave before cake cutting and would miss all of the fun pics of everyone dancing and having a good time at the wedding. If that is important to you as well, I would look into photographers that don't go by hour, just for the whole day/night for the wedding... That way you won't feel rushed into getting all the pics you want done before they leave

We booked our photographer for 10 hours - I would try someone else for a bit more money. I don't think you'll be too happy with 6 hours. It might cut you short of getting ready photos!
