Ladies on the pill....I need your HELP!!!!

So I went to the dr. today and wanted to go on the pill for many reasons. One being that I never know when I'm going to get my period and this ***** with the wedding coming up. So my dr. gave me some samples and told me to start the sunday after I begin my period. I started spotting/bleeding a few hours after the dr. and I'm not sure if it's my period or if it's from the dr visit. If I do a day one start (right now) I will have my period the week before the wedding. If I do a sunday start, I will have it for the wedding/honeymoon. So my question is does it really matter when you start it? Should I just do it now and see how it goes??

You can start now, It doesn;t matter Ypu just might have more spotting through the first month if you start now. Also, if you start now and not day one of your period, your not protected against pregnancy for a week.

Don't worry spotting was probably from the visit,
i would start the sunday after the next period, check with your dr but you can then take two months in a row - skip your period one month- sometime between now and your wedding and then you'll be fine, i've done it with no problem but again check with dr

Thanks so much for your help!!! I'm def not concerned about the pregnancy thing, b/c I'm paranoid about that and will still use backup for a month or so, lol. Right now it is :)

i think it does matter when you start, i wouldnt change what the doctor told you to do. that being said i have skipped my period a few times when i was going on vacation, by starting a new pack instead of taking the sugar pills. taht might be an option for you if you are supposed to get your period on your honeymoon. hth

The spotting was probably from the dr especially if they did a pap. I would do the Sunday start because its easier to remember (at least I think so). You can always skip a week over the summer if you want to delay your period and move your cycle over a week. I had the same dilemma a few months ago so I know how you feel.

Sometimes i really hate that guys have it soooo easy. They don't have to worry about this stuff!
