Re: ladies that live with their FH??
We have married like fights all the time, lol. Definitely tell him how you feel. FH and I never hold back, well at least I know I don't and I'm pretty sure he doesn't. If something is bothering us we say it right away so it doesn't fester and come out when one of us really heated. I really think this is the best policy because everything is out on the table and both of you can work on your 'annoying habits' so that you can try your best to live together in peace.

FH and I don't live together.. as a matter of fact we live 2 hours away and never really spent a like a weekend or something together.. but anyway.. we still feel like we're married and when we fight, it's bad.. so living together and get into fights.. but it all depends on how you want to view things.. hope everything goes well..

yes - dave and i lived together for 5 years before we were married.....
it's best to talk this stuff out NOW....make sure he knows what you want from him....and him from you as well...
yeah we have been living together for 3 years and we have a great relationship but after a while I am over it ya know... i mean cooking all the time..
I hear you!! FH and I both do the cooking...well honestly he used to do most of the cooking and I do all the cleaning. Recently since he is in the academy he is really tired and I do allllll the cooking I get frustrated at times but its not worth the headache. I have to take a minute to think about the stuff that he does do...like all the handy things

OMG, I so do feel like a married couple already. I too cook for him every night. But it might sound crazy, but I enjoy cooking for him. It's the other stuff. I told him when we have kids I'm hiring a maid

I totally know what you mean about the feeling married already however lately I guess because we are both getting really excited about the wedding it's been feeling totally different. I don't know if I am explaining it right but it's kind of like we have those 'sparks' again. It's awesome I love it!!! As far as the cooking dinner every night. Yes I do cook and clean the entire house and FH does help on occasion but he works WAY more hours then me so I am ok with it.
I so know what you mean. I feel the same way. Like we are on cloud nine together all over again.

We have lived together for 3/12 years now. I love living with him. We both clean, shop and cook. Yep, my fh grocery shops and cleans without me asking

Re: ladies that live with their FH??
My FH works alot, so he doesnt do much cooking, He has helped me clean, and we also hire cleaning ladies to do most of the cleaning. We also eat out alot, around 5-6 nights a week. i do like to cook though, but i dont think i could cook and clean up 7 nights a week.

Re: ladies that live with their FH??
I have been technically living with FH for about 5 years now....and officially since we bought a house for a year....I think you just have to know who he is...I cook every night, clean up and do all the laundry....I've always known he wouldn't do that stuff and I don't mind. (someday i want to be the housewife anyway!) but if it's something that bothers you then you need to nip it in the butt now! Talk it over and tell him what you need cause if you don't then it will never change...

Re: ladies that live with their FH??
this is a GREAT post - I've been living with FH for just over a year now - he cooks sometimes - he has his specialties. cleaning is DEFINITELY our issue - the problem is during the week i have NO energy when i get home. my problem is if there's stuff that needs to be done and he's playing video games - ugg! :) but i HAVE to say - I've had a couple of melt downs that file under the 'i can't do all of it anymore! and what are YOU doing to contribute' and of late he's been pretty good! for like the past 2 months he's been running the dishwasher AND EMPTYING IT! and doing other little things. i nearly fell off my chair when i got home 2 fridays ago and found that he had TOTALLY straightened up the entire apartment because my mom was coming (ok well, stuffed some stuff in the closet) but i didn't even ASK him to do it - just told him that i was going to need his help that night cleaning before she came - he also has a habit of dropping clothes and everything wherever all around the house. sadly, i've started to pick up this habit!
whew that was long. here nor there - yes it does feel like we're married :) :)

Re: ladies that live with their FH??
Yes I feel married already, we fight over stupid things , mostly the checkbook ! as far ask cooking every night, it depends on my mood. there will be a week where i cook every night and others where i don't at all. FH doesn't expect it , and there are times we eat a sandwich for dinner or a bowl of cereal
As far as cleaning, its mostly me ...the only room he cleans is the spare bedroom ( his office ) and the bathroom, i clean everything else. we do laundry together .
as far as kids and helping, i have made it crystal clear that I will not tolerate a husband who isn't invovled with their children and household duties.
I would discuss your concerns now. If you sent the precedence that he has no household responsibilities now it won't get easier after you have kids
