after reading Colleens post.. i have a suggestion.
Now that we're adults and will be living on our own... i think its crucial that you all go out and buy a sign. You know those black signs in bright redish orange font? 'for sale'... ?

get the 'BEWARE OF THE DOG' sign and put it on your livingroom window. Make sure its visible. You all need to be safe. its a sickkkkkkk world out there. its an eye sore but you need to be safe!!

this will discourage a lot of people from breaking into your homes!!!!!!!

since I live in an apartment..I have a gate on my window where fire escape is...if you have a FE, get one. There are nice ones. I heard of too many break ins that way.

My sister got a call from her management company that somebody was trying to break into her apt using a screwdriver! She has sliding doors and they were trying to get them off the track. She went out and bought a gun.
I tease her because she lived in not very safe areas her in NY but it took her moving to Texas to get one!!
