i have never actually stayed in Key West. i've stayed in Key Largo which is just a drive away and probably cheaper. that could be an option to look into...

We stayed at the Ambrosia 2 it's right off Duval, close enough to walk to the fun yet private enough, we loved it! We went 2 years ago for FH's cousin's wedding. We saw a few different places there, where others stayed and all were really nice, the Bride & Groom stayed at this fab, place where they had their own private in ground pool with their suite....

Heather - there are so many AWESOME intimate B&B's. I would have her look into those. There is one hotel right on Duval Street, Crowne Plaza La Concha, that I've heard you SHOULDN'T stay there - total spring break atmosphere and not nice. But then again, it is literally the best location possible for Key West....depends what she wants.
I think the Hyatt is beautiful - havent stayed there - but awesome location and gorgeous. I think it was recently redone too...I'd tell her to check that out. I think it's $$$ though...

What about Coconut Beach Resort- I'm not sure what the price is, but it's on the quiet side of Key West - right by my favorite restaurant in Key West (Louie's Backyard). Its right on the water....

The Ocean Key Resort would be perfect for a honeymoon, although it is quite pricey. I have also stayed at the Southernmost Hotel, which is right on Duval, and it is very nice as well, and one of the most reasonably priced you'll find.

FH:s other cousin (our GM) stayed their w/ his wife & daughter(our FG) , it was very nice. We had lunch by the pool their after swimming, and the place where you can rent a boat from is literally minutes away (walking). The & had their ceremony their at Sunset, you really can't get more romantic than that.

I stayed in a bed and breakfast about a block from Duval.... Free breakfast about 120 a night... it is called L'habitation.
http://www.lhabitation.com/ but try this web site. it has a whole bunch of B&B's.
