Ladies with Long Engagements - Long Island Weddings

We are also booking for 2 years out for 2016. We have been engaged awhile already but are just getting serious about planning. Setting a date this far out locks in this years pricing and gives us time to save and for us knowing the date is set will help us stick to saving. We are actually hoping to book this weekend for March of 2016. ;)

My fiance and I were engaged on labor day weekend in 2011. Planning was put off because in October, I had acute appendicitis which ruptured and I was in and out of the hospital for three months. I was a trooper though, we had the engagement party during that time (I went back in the hospital the day after though). We booked our venue in December 2012 for May 2014. However, I'm also a Thatched Cottage bride so you never know. Know your contract and the law!

we booked 2 years out (a little under)
and 2 months later you should book photo & video
but wait at least til the year mark to look @ dresses

THREE YEARS!!!! We have NOW been engaged THREE years... still have to wait 6 more months. Never thought it'd be so long. We would have booked as soon as we got engaged to lock in the date and price but only reason we didn't is for the same reason we had such a long engagement.. we didn't know how to pay for any of this.

We are in the same boat but we have you beat..We will be engaged like 4 years in total by the time we get married lol
