I lived 40 min south of it last year... It's GORGEOUS. OK, if you like ice cream, right next door to Great Escapes (which is also a lot of fun) is Martha's Ice Cream - it's one of those walk up to the window shops.... IT'S SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! Always crowded but really yummy!

I've been there a few times.

If you can visit the Sagamore - do it! It's so pretty there, they have this 'High Tea' that you can do there (we did this for my MOH's b-party a few years ago and it was really nice).

There's the Adironack Winery were you can do tastings and they have really good wine there - I place an order for some every year now!

Adirondiack Extreme was AWESOME! We went last year for FBIL's birthday. It's all high tree obstacle courses and zip lines (it's a lot of fun but you will be hurting the next day whether you are in shape or not!).

nice! we're renting a cabin that's right on the lake and the place has like free paddleboats, rowboats, etc.

this is where we're staying: Trout House Village I know, what a terrible name lol

omg that's so funny - i printed out a bunch of menus for restaurants in the area that looked nice, and 4 of them were actually located at the sagamore. do you remember which restaurant you ate at there?

um, i will DEFINITELY be trying the winery lol

and i'm so nervous about the adirondack extreme. it's one of the things we knew we wanted to do when we went up there - FILs did it last summer (they're in their 60s) and had a blast. i'm scared of heights/in terrible shape so i have a feeling i won't have as much fun. FH keeps telling me i need to stay on the kid's course, or look into the geriatric course bc that's all he thinks i'll be able to handle haha - probably true

I don't remember the name. It didn't really look like a restaurant where we were, more like a lounger area. It had big glass doors that opened up into the garden.

And don't be nervous about the AE. Heights is one thing... the first course isn't that bad and you can just keep doing that if you wanted to. But don't worry about not being in shape. Some of us were, some of us were not, and we were ALL hurting the nex day!

We usually go up to lake champlain-FH has friends that have a house up there.

Can't comment on LG; but overall it should be a nice relaxing 5 days. We'd grill out; relax by the lake; watch movies; drink LOL! go to breakfast in town; ski during the winter months.
