Has anyone been on a trip there recently? FH & I have this long list of places we want to go to, but I thought I'd ask around and see if anyone had been to them recently. We don't want to waste our time if they aren't worth it.

I love Lancaster!!

I have been to the Strasberg railroad! It is cute.

My favorite thing to do in Lancaster is EAT! Bird in Hand is my favorite place.. they are an inn. They own a bakery, which is amazing! Best Shoe Fly pie everrrrrr. Also, there is this farmer's market type thing next to the hotel. It sells yummy food.
I love this one restaurant called Good and Plenty. It's family style, and they keep bringing food out to you!!! The only downside is that you have to sit at a long table with strangers and it's annoying to ask them to pass you food. Especially if you're like me, a pig, and love to eat! Haha!

my parents just went to Good and Plenty recentely and they said that you dont have to sit with a whole group of people anymore if you dont want to.

also DutchWonderLand is geared more toward little kids then adults, just a littl FYI

Ditto! I looooove that place Good and Plenty. Wear drawstring pants if you go there, LOL!

I love all those markets with the crafts too. The Amish House is so interesting. Dutch Wonderland is definitely more geared towards kids. If you're set on an amusement park, maybe Hershey Park instead?

Re: Lancaster, PA NWR

we were just there in june. we go every year.

restaurants that are a MUST :

Millers Smorgasbord - for breakfast and dinner
Shady Maple Smorgasbord: for breakfast and dinner !!
Good and Plenty or Plain & Fancy - good food, its family style so you sit with a few other couples or families

Out of the places you mentioned

Kitchen Kettle Village - cute place to kill time , some cute lil shops and a great jam shop that u can taste a bunch of dips and chips and jams.

Dutch Wonderland - more of a kids atmosphere, I wouldnt waste your time here if you dont have any kids with you.

Julius Sturgis pretzel- i wouldnt reccomend it, we went and its literally a 5 min really boring tour of how to make a pretzel, lol

Cherry crest farm- definatly for kids and families, once me and fh saw this we didnt bother going in and paying the entrance fee

Strasburg Railroad- you can take a tour on the RR , its pretty nice I would reccomend it. Fh and I did this.

Indian Echo Cavern- there will prob be a lot of families and kids there but it is a pretty neat place to go to. I went there when i was a teen with my family.

Other places to check out

Adventure Sports in Hershey - they have mini golf, go karts, bumper boats , arcade and batting cages

High Sports - same type of place with mini golf, go karts, etc... the track is better here for go karts.

Bird In Hand Market - a greattt place with a bunch of diff vendors for diff picky foods and baked goods!

Kauffmans Market- a great lil market , they have the best apple cidar! we buy a gallon to take home with us , lol.

Intercourse Pretzel Factory - they have these great soft pretzels in diff flavors and a bunch of packaged pretzels and chips etc... you can also take a tour here ( its free) but its short and kind of a waste of time, lol.

There is a CrackerBarrel restaurnat, Sonic, and CiCi's ..... all restaurants that of course we dont have here in NY so they are great stops to go to !

There is also a smorgousborg which is delish. also there are the outlets right there on the strip by dutchwonderland. The min i have kids I am so going there. i might try to convince FSIL to take my nephew there next summer.
