has anyone taken the route of looking for land to have a house built? Any advice/information you can share? We gave up looking for a house since they are way overpriced and thought this may be an option. Thanks

Re: LAND
we own land in FL.
when buying land you want to see what is on it because you may be responsible for clearing it. That is costly. Some builders clear the land themselves, some dont. So when buying land you want to know how many trees are on it, is it elevated, do the builders have to add dirt to the land, how many shrubs are on there, etc... If you are responsible for clearing all of that, its very costly.
If you have any questions feel free to FM me

Re: LAND
yes it is easier to buy land that has all utilities hooked up....
you may want to look into contractors who probably own land...or in real estate sections?
if you are interested in Greenlawn, I mentioned once that it looks like St Francis of Asisi Church is selling off some land (fields that I used to play in...but was supposed to be for a Catholic school that never came to be)...but they filled in a sump and built a new one in their parking lot...
