Hi! :) I think it was very informative and I was so glad we had the opportunity to try the food! It was a lot more elaborate than I was expecting- besides just the food they had a display of different linens, napkin folds, menu styles, place settings, etc on one side of the room to get some ideas for what your options are! I was pleasantly surprised about that.It was sit down style in the main reception room and they serve one of each entree and appetizer for you to pass around with your party. I wasn't crazy about all of the appetizers but every single entree was sooo delicious!!! I was so relieved you never know with wedding food sometimes... Plus they said you can mix and match whatever sides you like if you like one side but not the main dish you can pick and choose. Definitely bring a pen and write everything down!!
They also served samples of wedding cake choices from Audrey's which was a pleasant surprise! Also they had a station of warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream and even the ice cream by itself was really yummy (I'm not an apple pie fan) Didn't expect that. Everything was great and was a nice sweet way to end the meal!
Let me know what you think afterwards!

Hi! I'm also a Land's End bride, getting married 7/19/15!! The food is so good there, we had our tasting too! Is anyone doing up lighting or just dimming the lights for the reception? I spoke with a vendor who wanted to charge quite a lot to rent lights for a few hours... I'm not sure if we 'need' up lighting or if the room will look just as good without? Any input?

Also, who is everyone using for hair/makeup? I'm still searching for this!

Welcome! So excited to have people to discuss ideas! I personally am not using any up lighting - I think it will look nice enough just dim with candles but it does appear in a lot of the photos on their site that there is up lighting! My parents are paying for our wedding and it's just not an expense I'm willing to pay for since I know they won't go for it! I don't think I've ever gone to a wedding and said damn I didn't enjoy it as much since it didn't have cool lighting! We haven't booked our dj yet but maybe it will come as part of a package? Have either of you booked one yet that you'd recommend? So far I'm just going off the list of vendors they gave me!I am using the makeup studio in babylon for hair and makeup- they did my sisters wedding last year and everyone looked beautiful!

Good point about the up lighting! It is $1000+ and I really don't want to pay for it either, lolWe are using a band, I heard LI Sound has good DJ's and it's one of the Rec vendors as well

Hi!!! So, I went to the tasting last weekend and OMG the food is just amazing and the people there are beyond nice. I'm getting even more excited now! :)As far as up lighting, I'm not doing any of that. I'm having a band and that never even crossed my mind to be honest lol. And to add to what Lynn said, I doubt people even notice the lighting or make a comment about it.
Right now I'm emailing some people for hair/makeup and getting quotes...it's so hard to choose!
Are any of you girls doing the Venetian hour?
