Landscaping

I'm trying to revive my front lawn after years of neglect from the previous owners. I put down new grass seed and fertilizer. However, I keep getting these nasty mushrooms sprouting up all over the lawn (random spots). I've sprayed them with weed killer and they just grow back. They're very thick and have deep roots ... i don't them soeaking up all the grass seed!

Anyone with a similiar problem or tricks to prevent the ATTACK OF THE MUSHROOMS?!?!
