Lantern centerpieces

My mom and I did the math today and realized to purchase 17 lanterns from michaels would cost A LOT of money!! Although i absolutely found one i love, brought it to Flowerfield, put it on the table and it looked amazing, it seems crazy to buy 17 lanterns. Does anyone know what florists or event planners rent out lanterns for centerpieces? I wouldn't even know what else to do for centerpieces if I had to change my mind,,

Re: Lantern centerpieces

Love the lantern centerpiece idea. I actually found affordable ones at home goods. Do you have a picture of the one you liked? what if you used coupons for them or tried getting them when they are on sale?

Re: Lantern centerpieces

2014 Bride Crashing! When we were first looking at florists, I saw Black Dahlia set up at a showcase with gorgeous big lanterns, I think they were around $20 rental per lantern, for extra you can add flowers around it, but I thought It was a great deal to not have to run around buying them and candles and not having to set them up day of! lol

Re: Lantern centerpieces

The lantern we purchased at michaels was on sale and we had a coupon and for some reason I can't upload the pic!! But either way I wanted to keep the flower budget on the lower end since they aren't too important to me. But I am trying to stock up on michaels coupons!

I will def check out that florist!! Thanks so much!

Re: Lantern centerpieces

I know the florists I met with don't really rent them out. They are getting more popular so I know they were looking into getting them. I'm doing lanterns as well and actually found all of mine at HomeGoods..They came with the battery operated candle in them and were about 12.99 each..I went into the store like once a week and they kept getting them in so I grabbed them all lol...good luck!

Re: Lantern centerpieces

I don't know if it worked but that is the lantern I fell in love with! I'm going to try Homegoods and starts contacting florists to see who else besides Black Dahlia rents them, if not I may just change my vision. I cant spend almost $1000 on lanterns alone I feel like that's just insane!!

It may cost you just as much to rent them.. and you always have the option to sell them to other brides after the wedding if you purchase them. Lanterns are becoming more and more popular as centerpieces and I don't think you'd have a hard time selling them on here to someone local so you don't have the hassle of shipping 18 lanterns lol

Look at IKEA. Not sure of the sizes, but when I was there they had a huge selection. We are going to buy some to decorate our bar.

Hey Annie!! You know I emailed Kerry and flowerfield about it and she told me that! I thought since Marion told me they were booked the day of our wedding that I wouldn't be able to work with them for anything. I'll give them another call and ask them about renting lanterns!! Thank you!!! I've been stressing over this like no other!!
