I've had two laps. I've never had a D & C so I can't compare it.
Basically they make a small incision (sometimes more than one) 5 or six inches below your belly button.
I was sore after mine, but not in any real pain. Felt like I did a lot of sit ups. Recovery is just a few days.

Michele, you can call me and we can chat. :) I hope you don't need one. I had 3 incisions. They use a camera and go above your belly button. I had both the D and C and the Lap at the same time. They were able to remove the 2 benign ovarian cysts. My recovery was about 1 1/2 weeks. But, needed 2 full weeks to recover emotionally.
