Hey fellow brides, I need some help. I've been going a little nuts trying to find the right RH that is large enough to accommodate 600+ people. Also something that is beautiful inside and out.
I've narrowed it down to a few choices. Please let me know your thoughts, if any, on these:
1. Villa Lombardi 2. VIP Country Club 3. Marina Del Rey 4. Crest Hollow CC 5. Jericho Terrace (max: 550) 6. Russo's on the Bay (not sure what the max is
My family and FH's family are both very large, the original guest list is around 700 :::sigh:::
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Re: Large Venue...Help!!
I would consider researching a venue that can accommodate a big party count such as a loft or catering hall near your home that you can rent which will be a lot cheaper than going with a restaurant. Hire catering particularly from culinary arts academy/institute. It'll save you a lot of time and money since you have a large party count. The great thing about working with a catering school rather than a company is the cost factor. Do a nice 3-course reception or buffet-style (cost can add up since stations have to be refilled). Since students will be working closely with their instructor, the food will be delivered high quality & given extra care & attention (chances are food will be critiqued and reviewed). A lot of the catering schools offer packages for weddings for a good deal. Also, if you do decide to rent out a loft or catering hall, make sure you get referral of the rental company they work with to get a slight discount. The 10-15% will help a lot! A great & affordable one is Party Time Rentals, two locations in Queens and one in NJ. Hope that helps, good luck with your wedding plans!

Re: Large Venue...Help!!
Thanks! Though I think getting a loft our regular hall may in the end turn out to be just as expensive when considering all the rentals, setting up, lighting, etc. Also I'm really big on food, so cocktail and Viennese hours are really important. I am also looking for someplace that will provide grounds for really nice pictures and an outdoor ceremony.

I'm not sure their maxes, but Garden City Hotel and the Huntington Hilton can also hold large numbers. And of course (if it's in your budget), Oheka Castle.

Re: Large Venue...Help!!
i would say jericho terrace, but im partial.. the room that holds the most is the skylight/terrace room, which is actually two rooms opened up to each other..were getting married in the skylight room and using the terrace room for our ch..
also, if your guest list is 700, they say to expect 20% or so not to come, so you would be down around the 550 mark..

Re: Large Venue...Help!!
I almost booked VIP. We were working with Michael and he is super nice. The place is SOOOO NICE! When FH and i walked in we thought it was going to be WAY over our budget but it wasn't.
The large room can DEF fit that many people. My concern would be cocktail hour. It does have inside and outside but what happens if it rains?

Re: Large Venue...Help!!
hmmmm I would say check out Inn at New Hyde Park.. but I think they only accomodate 500.. I would double check.. the ballroom is huge but 600 people is a lot of people so not so sure... :(
What about a hotel in the city.. the grand ballrooms prob accomdate that many people. I was just at the Pierre Hotel for a conference and I would say their ballroom was huge..
maybe there are places you can have it outside with a tent and then u can have as many people as you want..

Re: Large Venue...Help!!
Wow that is a large guest list! I would look into hotels sometimes their ballrooms are very large. There are also some large halls in Northern NJ or in NYC.
Good luck :)

Re: Large Venue...Help!!
Crest Hollow is VERY beautiful. It was one of our top choices.
Also, Leonards can hold this many (I think)
If you're looking in CT at all, my RH-Woodwinds- can hold up to 600 :)

Re: Large Venue...Help!!
I had my wedding at Russo's and although I am not a huge fan of the outside or some of the inside, I went with them from food and service. At the end of the day you are in four walls and you better make sure the food and service are good. Everyone was happy it seemed. I believe they can accomdate 600, I am just not sure how it would be set up.
I am going to Villa Lombardi's for a communion tomorrow, I will let you know who it went.
