Ok, I went to buy a bra today for my dress and I tried on one of those longline bras. The top fit great but it pushed all of my fat down to my hips!! What kind of bra or undergarments are you/did you wear to hold in the 'fat'???? I wear between a size 16 and 18. Thanks!!

I bought a longline bra from David's bridal. I was so comfortable and I didn't feel like it pushed the fat.

Do a search on the boards. There is a specality shop that sells bras for larger women. My sister got it there, and they were wonderful.

There is a shop in Stony Brook (near the old post office w/ the eagle) they are very nice there, and have a lot of stuff to try... I got a low back, strapless, long line, FRONT CLOSURE bra there - NEVER thought I would find one out there! # is 631-751-7789. call and see what they have first... Good luck!
BTW I also wear @ size 16

I am the same size and wore a long line bra. I got it at Mary's in Woodbury. They cut and sew right on the premises to get the custom fit. I was extremely pleased with them and it gave me a real smooth line under my dress. My Mom and sister also go a custom bra there and were very happy. If you go make sure to go early...you have to put your name on a list but their products and service is so worth the wait! -Margaret

I got mine form ruths lingerie on merrick Rd.
It went all the way down to my hips, so there was no unsightly fat scrunching. It covered everythng, and even smoothed out the top of my butt. What you were trying on may nt have been the right size. At Ruths, she altered it for free on the spot!

I never understand how this works. If I'm smushing all my fat, it has to go somewhere and I am worried it will wind up being a worse lump just in a different place. Is it just me?

I am going to Bra Tenders in June for a corest but I wondered where my fat will will get squished to! Too bad they don't make stuff for your whole body!! haha
