I've been twice and stayed at Paris both times. Rates are reasonable and rooms are a nice size. Had THE BEST massage I've ever had at their spa.

Really all we did was gamble ...

Both times were late April, early May and packed shorts & capris and a pair of jeans.

I just went in March, We stayed at Mirage which was really nice- but almost all the hotels there are nice. And there is tons of sight seeing to do if you don't want to gamble.

Definitely stop by Bellagio and see the water show outside. It is trully amazing and breathtaking. I get chills just thinking about!!

A cool bar to check out is Kahunaville (sp) in Treasure Island hotel. They do a little show around 7:30 with liquor bottles - like in the movie Cocktail. That was a fun place.

HTH!!!!!! Have fun!!!!!

ETA- bring lots of light clothes this time of year. FHs parents just moved there and they said it has been like 110 degrees!!!

They also saw 'O' and are still talking about how great it was!

Re: LAs Vegas

Dh and I are going for our second trip next week. Now is the time to get the best rates because of the heat. We are staying at the Caesars Hotel. Last time we stayed in our tiny hotel called the Boardwalk(was still nice). it was right next door to theMonte Carlo. Def stay in the middle of the strip. Good choices of hotels are Caesars, Paris, Bally's and Alladin. As for clothes, lots of shorts and tees for the day. I would bring a few dressy outfits for the nighlife(we plan ongoing to studio 54 in the mgm).

A day at the grand canyon is a great trip. YOu can book it online.

if you need a good travel agent, try ralph at the liberty travel in fresh meadows, NY.

It is hot there. I stayed in the holiday inn boardwalk which was in the main part and close to everything.

People dress up in all different styles from shorts and tees to the occasional wedding dress.

The hotels themselves are an attraction. I didn't get a chance to go to the old las vegas but I heard that is pretty cool.

The middle of the strip is a great place to stay--the Paris or Bellagio. If you want a nice hotel in the middle of the strip but don't want to spend alot of money, stay at Balley's. We stayed there in a suite---amazing.

There are alot of shows to go and see--any of the cirque de soleil shows are worth it.

During the days or nights, just visiting the hotels are great. We also took a day trip to the Hoover dam. Others have taken helicopter rides to the grand canyon.

have fun!

Re: LAs Vegas

I've been to Vegas two times and trip number three is coming up Labor Day weekend. I've stayed at the Monte Carlo, MGM Grand and will be staying at Mandaly Bay.

DEFINATELY bring comfy shoes, between the walking and the heat your feet get tortured. I would walk around and see the different hotels...some of them are amazing...(love the Venetian...feels like you are walking through a little town in Italy ), the water show at the Bellagio is also a must. As far as shows...O at the Bellagio is worth every cent...I'm planning on seeing it again when we go back. I can't really recommend any resturants bc I don't remember ever going out to any good places...but the buffet at the RIO Hotel was one of the better ones - bigger selection of foods...

Clothes during the day...light...if you are going during the summer months it can reach 110 degrees easy...even the pool area isn't a relief from the heat...you're completely dry once you've reached your lounge chair after jumping into the pool..As for night time clothes...anything goes, I've seen everything from girls decked out in heels, dresses and accessories...to girls dressed in jeans and heels...I would say what you would wear to a club in NYC would be perfect...

A trip to Freemont Street is fun also...for a change of pace...you can hop onto a bus that runs down there (it is a bit of a ride) but if you don't feel like paying for a cab its not that bad.

We went back in November and stayed at TI. We are going back in September for our honeymoon and staying at Mandalay Bay. I heard they have the best pools and a fake beach.
