Ok so we are thinking of going to Vegas for our honeymoon. It's a toss up between there or FL-to Disney and Universal Studios deal, but we are afraid that being the summer, Florida will be PACKED with families. So we are elaning towards Vegas. (if anyone has an opinion, feel free to offer it)
SO I don't know Vegas at all. We are not gamblers but we'd like to be close to the strip for the convenience of walking. If the hotels are nicer OFF the strip, however, that is mroe than fine too. We want to see the Grand Canyon anyway.
So ladies, anyone know the names of nice hotels in Vegas? Thanks!

Guys, you are all fantastic. Thanks SOOO much. If I find any good deals I will post updates since there seem to be a few others looking into Vegas as well. Thank you! Much love to all! :)

Re: Las VEgas?
I think the Luxor is the best. The rooms are great and very affordable!! If you want REALLY cheap, but basic and clean, then stay downtown at Fitzgeralds or Golden Nugget. They are both very clean and basic hotels!

Hmm the Luxor? Ok thats another idea! We don't want to spend CRAZY money. BUT we want to be on the strip and we want a nice enough hotel. I heard the Ventian and Bellagio are beautiful, but very ritzy and the staff is nicer to the rich, high-rollers than us ordinary peons. I don't want to be amde to feel awkward. We went to SECRETS EXCELLENCE in Cancun last June and it was ultra-luxorius yet we were NEVER made to feel awkward. I loved that so I kinda want that esperience again. I am spoiled now.

You can also try the MGM, which is at the end of the strip but with the monorail you can still go up and down the strip without a problem. Or if you do want something closer to the middle, try looking at the Monte Carlo which is nice too.

Re: Las VEgas?
Venetia looks gorgeous. Has anyone had experience with 'The Paris Las Vegas?' Also, question, what is the difference between 'Mandalay Bay Resort' and casino and 'THE Hotel at Mandalay Bay?' Has anyone stayed at either? IS one better than the other?
Thanks!

Re: Las VEgas?
See my post earlier in this thread about Paris hotel and also for a description of THEhotel at Mandalay Bay.
The regular Mandalay Bay hotel rooms are just that - rooms. Nothing too special about them. THEhotel is all suites, modern furnishings, separate bedroom with a large master bathroom, separate living room with wetbar and a half bathroom.

Re: Las VEgas?
I've stayed at Luxor. The lobby is breathtaking but the rooms are way subpar to a Mandalay, Bellagio, or Wynn.
My picks are Mandalay and Bellagio. Wynn is the newest hotel but I heard it's about equal to Bellagio but much more expensive (starts at like $599 a night.)
Mandalay and Bellagio prices aren't too bad right now.

We went to Secrets Excellence in Punta Cana...they were amazing!!! We LOVE Secrets!!! Luxor is not that expensive.....it's pretty average and especially during the time you want to go, b/c that's when most the hotels have great deals!!
