Las Vegas hotels

I posted in the Honeymoon section, but didn't get too many responses. ...

FH and I have a destination wedding to go to next year in Vegas. I have never been to Vegas and was wondering what are some good hotels, casinos, or resorts to stay at? I am totally clueless!!

If you're looking to spend alot of $$$ on a hotel room, hit up- Bellagio, Wynn or Venetian. THeyre GORGEOUS but expensive. If you're looking to stay for less, try Luxor- great prices and real nice rooms.

HAVE FUN!!!!! I <3 Vegas!

MGM is my fave moderately priced hotel... its got a rail stop in the hotel that takes you all along the stirp so its close to all the action...
but my personal fave is bellagio but its $$$

have a great time!

FH and I did a trip to Vegas last year, and we got our hotel through Priceline. We bid on 5* hotels only, and got the Venetian for $115 a night - not really all that cheap, but a good price for a 5* hotel. This site is a good guide on how to use Priceline - you can see which hotels usually included in the star ratings:

I have a lot of guy friends that stay in the Hard Rock - it's a little off the strip, and it's a younger crowd. A few others stay at the Rio, which is further off the strip, but closer to the Palms. Mandalay Bay is GORGEOUS, but I think it's pretty pricey. My FH has stayed at MGM and said it was really nice, and I also thought Excalibur, New York, Paris and Aladdin seemed nice and I would stay in one of those when I go back. There's a lot of decent hotels out there.

We just did Mirage and it was fab!! Conveniently located at the middle of the strip too!!

Try and stay on the strip. Some mof the hotels that are a little less expensive compared to the others but are still very very nice are Treasure Island, Monte Carlo, and Aladdin and Paris.

My advice would be to stay on the strip though.

I would recommend NY, NY and MGM...they are right next to each other.

I go to Vegas every year for work. Here is where I've stayed
Mirage - It was nice. Not much excitement but that's probably why I liked it!
Bellagio - GORGEOUS!! It's my favorite hotel. Love everything about it
Wynn - Newest hotel there. Very ritzy. In the same league as the Bellagio.

My parents always stay at the Flamingo. It very family oriented.

ditto! i just got back on Saturday, and Paris was my favorite b/c IMO, the price was right, the view was great, and its soooo convenient right in the middle of the strip.

If you're going with a group and expect to party a little bit, Bellagio probably isn't the place for you. Although its beautifullll, its a teensy bit stuffy. Lots of old rich people.

You may want to stay close to where the wedding is - if there are others there for the wedding, you'll probably want to spend some time together, right?

Ehh, I'm trying to fit in some quality time with my FH on the trip too. His family can be smothering, so staying near or in the same hotel as them isn't what we want to do. We want to be close enough to participate in pre-wedding events and go out to dinner if they want and what not, but far enough away so that there is some privacy. They are staying off the strip.. I know that much.
