Has anyone done this or is planning on this for wedding? If so, any recommendations on places (also where NOT to go), pricing
Work in the city by Penn Station, live in Queens but am willing to look into LI as well

Re: Laser Hair removal
I've been to Smooth Synergy in midtown for a few treatments. so far so good. a friend of mine also LOVES American Laser. they have locations EVERYWHERE
Its safer than laser, and more effective on more people. And it is a lot less painful because it doesn't go as deep.
Its a little more expensive than laser, but I know a lady that does it from her home and gives you a great price (cheaper than laser) if you pay up front.
I started doing underarms and arms for wedding, and I'm so ridiculously happy I want to be bald everywhere! If you are really pale and have really dark hair, like me, expect great results!

Forget the old fashioned laser!
Do IPL! (Intense pluse light)

Re: Laser Hair removal
I am considering it but don't think I will have the money. Maybe after the wedding instead
BTW I have heard very bad things about American laser. I did A LOT of research on them when I was considering it 2 years ago. They drew me in saying that I had one $1500 of free laser removal services.... I looked into it though and turned it down. There was a lot of controversy b/c many of their workers were not certified to do the laser hair removal and there were some injuries caused by this misuse. I mean look into yourseld before you do it but that is jsut what I found.

Re: Laser Hair removal
The laser that came out a few years ago hurts like hell!
I cried during my whole session and they even gave me the stupid cream to use prior, it didn't do much for me.
The new IPL, wont affect your skin at all, unless you have a sunburn or fresh tan. So if you are tan, wait 3-6 weeks for it to fade, and you should be fine.
IPL barely tickles me, I love it. I actually want it to hurt more because I know when I feel a pinch it really got deep in there and got it the hair!
I had little red bumps on my upper arms, It actually smooth out those bumps after a few treatments.
It has affects like that, its used for skin imperfections too.
The lady I go to, does men!

if you dont mind me asking..how many treatments did you have to do before you started to see results?? and how spread apart did you have to do them? Sorry for all the questions..this is all new to me and i have been considering laser for so long this seems like the best way to go!

Re: Laser Hair removal
Okay its recommended 6 treatments to clear an area
3-4 weeks between treatments for body 2-3 weeks between treatments for face
On some parts, it seemed like I needed only one treatment! Like my sideburns, my little chin hairs... those things.
My arms are stubborn, I will probably need 8 treatments there.
My underarms, I saw improvement after 1st treatment, the hair completely changed! Now I have a little patch that wont go away! Still have 1 more treatment to go.
My upper lip, is peach fuzz after 3 treatments.

Re: Laser Hair removal
I've heard really good things from 2 different people about a laser removal place in Astoria. It's called Gentle Touch and it's located inside the train station at the Ditmars stop of the N & W train.
