well, i am not sure of the answer but i have to tell you that i got laser recently and LOVE IT!! it didnt hurt, i didnt get red and i noticed a difference right away ( and it keeps getting better as hair grows and falls out)

i havent gotten electrolysis though so i dont know which is better!

if i had to do it over again though i would have gotten in the winter - i cant get a tan now for a few weeks bc it may get darker where i got the laser!

I'm not sure what color hair you have, but just keep in mind that laser hair removal will not work for light (blonde) hair.

Oops - nm - I should have looked in your album first. I see you have dark hair, so the laser hair removal would work. SORRY!

I currently wax my sideburns every couple months and it leaves them red and irritated for at least a week. I hate it. I would love to know this answer also.

I'm not too familiar with electrolysis, but I've had laser done.

Laser is great, but you have to go for several treatments. There could be some redness for about a week or so, but it's not a big deal. The only thing with laser is that if you have a darker complexion, it is not recommended because it can lighten your skin...so no tanning before-hand.

i would go with laser, it removes the hair faster.. it is permanent after several sessions.

i have had both electrolysis and laser and prefer laser, - it is just faster.

I am also interested in laser but decided to wait until after my wedding b/c I am scared it might leave a permanent or semi perm mark.

But I was thinking of getting it for my upper lip - so someone mentioned above that it could leave a red mark - is it noticable? I don't want people to know!!

do you have sensitive skin? i really don't and i walked out of the doctor's office and i ran up to teh receptionist and i was like freaking out bc i thought my upper lip was red. . . they laughed at me and handed me a mirror - you could not tell at ALL and this was minutes later! FH had no idea i got it done so i was so happy you couldnt tell!

i have olive skin so i went a few weeks ago which is my palest and now i am not going to tan until AT LEAST July ( which stinks but oh well)

i definitely recommend going to a dermatologist! i have heard people going to spas and laser centers that need 4-6 treatments. . . but my dermatologist told me the most he has ever ahd to do ( on the face) was three sessions!

laser is soooo much better than electrolysis. Less painful and done much quicker.

i was actually considering electolysis for my eyebrows and upper lip..but im super scared..does it hurt really bad? and im somewhat afraid that its permanent and then i can never change the shape of my eyebrows..its just annoying cause i have to wax them weekly!!!

I'm having laser and an acne treatment done, I love it.
This is the link to the place, Abby is so nice.
I want to get her to become a vendor on LIW.

There are pros and cons to both...

what I've heard is...laser is still a new technology so it's results over time aren't proven. It is more expensive...but yes you do get to go less frequently. My mom is having it done on her arms and she's happy.

Yes electrolysis is more painful (but there are topical anisthetics to numb the area - I use this), but if you keep it up and go regularly, after a while the periods between appointments will be longer, and eventually you'll be on a maintenance schedule (depends on your growth, could be 6 months between appointments). Everyone is different with different growth spurts and such...

Personally, I'm very happy with electrology! My original electrologist back on LI does laser as well and she seems to have more faith in electrology- it's a more permanent option in her mind. I've seen a huge difference - it's really awesome! It was worth sticking with!

FM if you have any questions!
