So I after my last dress fitting which is one week before the wedding I just pick up the dress a few days before and don't try it on. Is this the way everyone does it? I am nuts and feel like I need to try it on after the last fitting to make sure when it is picked up it is perfect! I got my dress at The Wedding Salon in Manhasset and they have been wonderful thus far I am going to ask at my second fitting next weekend but just wanted your advice...
Ummmm I will ABSOLUTELY be trying my gown on after the last fitting. You need to make sure it's perfect and that there aren't any last minute changes that need to be made.
I don't think I did..and my alterations were horrible! please make sure you try it on after your last fitting to make sure it fits correctly! and be strict with alterations!!!!!!!!!
I'm kinda nervous that you are already going for your second fitting, and my gown isn't even in yet. Should this be a concern...???? I got mine at Paradise Bridal.
NO, don't be concerned....I know a lot of brides that are around me and don't have their dress. The wedding Salon just spreads them out which worked out for me bc my dress was SO big that they have a ton of work. Thanks ladies I am paying a lot for these alterations and WILL try it on after the last one!!

DEFINITELY try it on...what if they wonked something up after the last fitting and then you didn't try it on?? You wouldn't find out until your wedding day and that would s*ck!!!!!
For me the last fitting was basically a try on. The last fitting just made sure that everything was perfect after the first two fittings and nothing was being changed further, and they taught my mom how to do the bustle. The only thing done to my dress between the last fitting and the day I picked it up was that it was steamed for the wrinkles. So, I didn't try it on again when I picked it up. Didn't want to wrinkle it up again!
i would so try it on- especially since alot of brides diet or even loose weight due to just stress- you gotta make sure its perfect.
i went for a fitting about a month before and then final fitting 2 weeks before. i picked it up 2-3 days before the wedding b/c it's all pressed and i didn't want to mess it up at that point. it should be ok, but make another appointment in between if you don't feel it will fit right.
Try it on!!! If you have any hooks, buttons, fasteners, anything of the sort check them!!! my best friend, day of her wedding, found out a very important hook that was to be sewn above the zipper had never made it there and all though it wasn't the end of the world (safety pins are a must on the wedding day) it was much added stress!!!
