Do you think I have enough time to go to Venice though? It's kind of off the path of the other towns we're visiting and I don't want to rush through everywhere. I guess you're saying I should do:

Rome
Florence
Cinque Terra
Lake Como
Venice
Rome
Paris

Oh No! Another Option!

I would choose option #2 also. Venice is a must-see. It's overpriced, but it's one of the most phenomenal places I've ever seen.
I was only there for a little over a day and that was fine.

Re: Last Europe Itinerary Post

My husband just sent me an email saying he thinks we should go straight to florence or tuscany from rome rather than spending a night there so that we can spend time in venice. that would make itinerary number 89038249302. my poor travel agent.

ok, so we'll probably fly in to rome and go straight to tuscany or florence:

tuscany/florence: 2 nights (which one?)
cinque terre: 3 nights
lake region: 3 nights
venice: 2 nights
rome: 1 night
paris: 1 night

Better?

Re: Last Europe Itinerary Post

If Venice is a must-see but good for 1 night (which everyone is saying), I'll do this:

tuscany/florence: 3 nights (which one?)
cinque terre: 3 nights
lake region: 3 nights
venice: 1 night
rome: 1 night
paris: 1 night

Am I driving you nuts yet?

WHICH ONE???? We can't decide!!!!!

Our travel agent booked us at a hotel in the heart of Florence but my friend told me to switch it to Montepulciano, Tuscany.

Re: Last Europe Itinerary Post

I would stay in Florence and venture out to Tuscany if you can. You would have to rent a car though. It all depends really on what you and FH like to do. Tuscany is basically beautiful countryside so if you want to keep it low key, go there. Florence of course is a big city and there are more things to do there. I loved both places so it's hard for me to tell you one or the other! I've never been to Montepulciano but I have been to Siena and Pienza (in Tuscany). Very very pretty but basically just strolling around, looking in little shops and driving around looking at scenery type of thing. Very relaxing...
