We are going with black tie optional, do we put that on the invitation,or the reception card?
Sorry for all the questions about invites..I am just clueless lately

I had 'black tie' put in the bottom left corner of the invitation like this:
There was a charge ($8 or $9) to do that because it was a separate thing off set to the side not in alignment with the rest of the invitation.

If the ceremony and reception are at two different locations, then put 'black tie optional' on the reception card. And to combine this with your other question . . . if you're doing black tie optional, then use 'favour' and 'honour' since it more formal.
