Opinions please? Hypothetically, what would you think if you were invited to a friend of a friend's wedding like 3 weeks before the wedding? And if you received an e-mail saying that they just sent the invite but need to know right away if you are coming and your menu choice?

Re: Last minute invite
well.. if it is a new friend that you just became closer with I think it would be nice..MINUS the email part. A phone call would be appropriate like
'I know we havent beenfriends too long, but I would really love it if you could come to my wedding on _____' etc
The email thing is kind of tacky

Re: Last minute invite
I got invite to an wedding about 3 weeks ago and knew we were b list which really didn't bother me bc we arent that close. I would kind of be rattled if they pushed me to make a decision really fast.

Re: Last minute invite
I'm willing to give a little on the tacky factor since it was an e-mail from the groom to FH. But we have only hung out with this couple a few times in a group setting, so it feels very 'we need to fill some seats and want gifts so who else can we invite' to me. Maybe I am reading into it too much and they are looking to hang out with us more. It's just everything adds up so quickly!

Re: Last minute invite
Oh I thought you were asking if you where to do this!
Well this happened to me and my FH said he wanted to go. I wanted to turn down the invite since we have to save up for a wedding for ourselves and we were a very lsat minute choice. Also now I feel like I am obligated to invite them. I guess on the positive side is that they did consider you and as you know you can't invite everyone.

Whoops! I meant to keep it 'hypothetical'! Maybe I should have said it happened to 'a friend'.

Re: Last minute invite
I think that it's fine to be invited to a wedding last minute (especially if you are a friend of a friend). I think that they should call you though. It is a little tacky to get an email.

Re: Last minute invite
I'd either think that I was on the B list (and IMO A and B lists are tacky), or I would think they were looking to fill seats to meet the minimum....either way it would turn me off, and the email would be the icing on the cake. JMO.

Re: Last minute invite
i did it but i had fh call the people she wanted to have come though. the list was too big for her to invite her somewhat good friends so when the list got smaller i had her call them..she invited one the week before and they didn't seem to mind..the email was a little tacky though i think. they should have been up front with you about it.
