Re: Last minute vendor issue
I personally am having them in another room. If you have them at a table where everyone else is you bring up the issue as to whether or not that table gets a centerpiece and if so-- what kind, the same as everyone else's table or a smaller less expensive one? I'm already feeding them and tipping them. I don't need the added expensive of a centerpiece and additional chair rentals.

Re: Last minute vendor issue
honestly i've never heard of the vendors having like their own table or anything to eat at--where you have to place them with guests.
i think this is one of those things you don't really need to worry about--cause the vendors tend to know where they should go--cause the matire d' at your RH will tell you. i honeslty have no idea where our vendors ate--cause we didn't see them eating--i think they must have eaten in another room and we didn't even realize it!
i say just focus on the big day and don't worry about micro managing this detail--they will figure it out for you!

Re: Last minute vendor issue
I don't even remember seeing my vendors eating. Usually the hall sets up that stuff themselves.

Re: Last minute vendor issue
Vendors eat in a separate room. They aren't guests - they don't get a table with a CP, etc., and they don't eat in the main dining room. They don't even get the full menu - they get one course.
Absolutely have them eat in another room.

Re: Last minute vendor issue
Vendors don't normally eat at an official table in the reception room. They eat when they can, and they eat out of sight.

I have NO idea where my vendors ate - but I know it was not in the reception room. It must have been in the CH room.

Re: Last minute vendor issue
The hall usually has a place where they put vendors and the vendors are used to it.
At ours they were separate from the guests. I don't know when they ate, but i know they did.

not necessarily. I worked at a catering hall and in some of the larger rooms, there was a tableset up in the corner for them
for the OP, usually the RH sets up a place for them to eat. My FH & I DJ and this past weekend we ate in the room were the cocktail hour was held.

Re: Last minute vendor issue
I sang in wedding bands for 8 years. We almost always ate in a separate room. Sometimes it was the CH room.Sometimes, we had a table in the kitchen. There were a FEW venues where we'd be in the main room but that was because there was no other room to put us.
Honestly, we didn't want to be in the main room anyway. We needed a break.
And its true, we don't get the same meal. Not even close. We usually get a dish of pasta or chicken & some rolls.
ETA - I agree with the OP... your RH takes care of this. This isn't even up to you. Tell your parents to chill & not to stress you out over such a minute detail.

Re: Last minute vendor issue
Your vendors are not your guests. They are there working, yes they deserve a break but they should be separate from your guests. Your RH will set up a table for them in another room.

Re: Last minute vendor issue
WOW...so the majority think the vendors should eat in another room.
Yet ....do you think the vendors would do a better job if they feel like you have included them as part of your wedding day (considering they ARE such an important part)???
Just curious...

Re: Last minute vendor issue
This was something I did not concern myself with, the hall set up the vendors in an outside room and the only reason I noticed it was when I went outside the main room with my sister and mom to lift and fluff out my dress, lol.
I honestly think that your vendors are used to this, this is their business, they do it often and it's not something they would take personal. It's a little more professional to have them eat away from the sight of the guests, IMO.

Re: Last minute vendor issue
Ditto on asking your reception site. Ours had a separate table in the main reception room. To my knowledge, none of my guests cared. Nor did my vendors, so long as they got a meal.
