How many ladies are taking FH last name? Anyone hyphenating or otherwise??

I'm definitely taking his last name. I really like the idea of having the same name as our children one day.
If I told you what my new name would be you'd all probably have the same reaction. Everyone who I tell gets this weird look on their face. Yes, I will have a stripper/porn star name!!!

I agree. My FH's last name is British. It will be so nice to have a pronouncable last name, and one that can be spelled easily. I'm sheding my Polish last name like a bad habit.

I can't wait to take his name for 2 reasons: 1) He will be my husband and I always said I was going to take my husbands name 2) I don't talk to my dad and his family so I don't want his name

I would actually prefer to keep my last name....i love my last name and im so used to it after 22 years. BUT i will be taking his. I wouldnt feel right not taking it or hyphentaing or something. I think it is very traditional and I have alwasy planned on changing.

I dont think I will be taking his - maybe later on when we decide to have kids --i dont know yet but I like my last name for the time being

I marked 'other' because I think I am doing something a little unique. I am keeping my name and taking his, but not hyphenating...
So I will have two last names...
That's what I did--best of both worlds!!!

My last name sounds so much nicer than his...so much easier to spell and pronounce too, and I'm a teacher so my kids will be butchering my new last name
Wish he would take mine, but he refuses...guess I'll be following tradition.

I'm changing last name and middle name. My middle will be my maiden name and then new last name. I've always hated my middle name so this is a good way to get rid of it.

I agree about the teacher thing! I will be taking my FI last name as well and my kids will be butchering my new name as well! They keep asking if they can start calling me that to practice!
