Last name change
Does anyone have experience in changing last name? How long do you have to change your documents? Grace period wise. Thanks ladies!

No time frame. You can do it as soon as you get your marriage license or years later.

The marriage licence gets mailed to you after the wedding. I think about 2 weeks later. Then you can fill out all the paperwork to change your name. I got a bunch of forms when we applied for the marriage licence. Or you can fill that all out on missnowmrs.com.

There is no time frame.
I changed my license, ss card and credit cards within a week of receiving my marriage license.
American Express required a copy of my new license.
I did not change my passport yet because I don't plan on traveling outside the US.

For my honeymoon I booked everything in my maiden name. The travel documents must match your photo ID (driver's license or passport).
It takes about 10-14 days to receive back the marriage license. Nothing can be changed until you receive the license. Once I went to DMV it took about 10 days to receive my driver's license.
For name change to the passport, I think you need to mail in original documents. I don't know how long this process takes.
