While I do love my maiden name, my married name will be so much easier for people to pronounce and spell, so that's a relief!

Let me preface this by saying I could not possibly love him more, but...

no, not at all excited and likely won't just take his name. I'm thinking of adding it legally, but using my name. But, at least in some way I'll share a name with kids.

I don't think he'd be too psyched to lose his name either.

This post had me thinking and I found this website about first and last names-my married last name is the 105th most popular last name and that 202,500 people in the US have this last name

I really don't like the FH's last name at all. I just can picture myself with that - I never wrote it together once. I Love my name. Its british sounding. Very proper, and I love it.

I'm looking for a way to get out of taking it. Right now we just avoid the question

i've always been called by my last name...(sports did it to me in high school) so it is DEFINITELY hard to get used to, but still taking it....would feel weird not to!

I am very excited to take FH's last name because I don't like mine. But it will still be weird.

I work in a school so I am always referred to as Miss ****
It is going to be weird to suddenly be a Mrs.!!

I am keeping my maiden name for work only...it is on all my diplomas and such...

I am not crazy about taking FH's last name, but it means a lot to him, so I compromised by keeping mine for work...

There are no boys on my father side of the family and I'm the baby. So not only am I keeping mine and adding his, our kids will have my name too! FH also thought of adding my name to his. I kinda like that idea!!!
