My name has 7 letters and FH's has 8 letters I think it will be way to long...I'll take his...but at work I think I leave everything as is.

Am I the only one who is not taking their husband's last name??????? Since he and I will be doctors in the same hospital, I think it would be too confusing if i took his name. I thought about hyphenating, but i'm not sure how that works. if you hyphenate legally, do you always have to use both name?

taking fh's last and making my maiden name my new middle name. I always hated my current middle name so it's a great way to get rid of it.

Except for work. I'm keeping that maiden name. I work with a population that I wouldn't want them knowing my hubby and kids name!

We always joke around about it ~ FH says he should be taking my last name.... a funny thing happened a couple of months ago - my FH had to take one of my dogs to the vet (emergency) and when I got there from work - we were waiting to be called and the vet called him Mr. K...(my last name) he almost died and said really loud 'figures' every man in the office started laughing....

but I will be taking his last name and I will be a Mrs. P... too...
