Re: Last Nights LOST......
I know you will all think i am a geek but me and DH are so into this show so here are our fews clues with picked up on from last night:1.Okay the line on Charlies arm is 'Life is Easy with Eyes Closed' a line from Strawberry Fields by the Beatles and it goes something..
Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me
Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
.[Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever'
2. Sawyer on the beach is reading a book Watership Down its about a colony of rabits who flee the destruction of their original home in hopes of finding a home and along the process develop a new society and the title of the epsiode was White Rabbit....concidence??
3. The pregnant girls is no where to be found in the cast of characters promoting the show. Like all the others...makes me think that she dies within the next couple of epidsodes. I still don't get the fact that she keeps asking for a hairbrush last night??? That has to be a clue about something..
4. E online reported that they have been casting for two new characters in the show which makes you think that there are people who are on the island already.
5. Jack hears the ice jiggling in a glass and looks over to see his father which means his father was an alcoholic (remember the earlier scene when young Jack is being talked to by his father and he is swiggling his drink in a glass). This goes back to the fact that i think he his an alcoholic and doctor that lost his license in someway related to his father.....
SO now me and DH think the the island makes these people fantasies come true but also that the island wants these people to be there...not sure why. Realize that there was no monster in this episode...which i think will become less and less as the season goes on as these people conquer their fears.
AND finally Lost has been picked up this season i am sooooo excited.
Okay you can call me a geek now

At first I thought that was a different plane that crashed, but they said that was 16 years ago! (that the distress call was playing for 16 years) Well did they ever say it was a plane crash? Wouldn't the dolls and other belongings eroded more after 16 years!
They have said at various times during various episodes that there is wreckage from the same crash elsewhere on the island .. even eluding to maybe other survivors, since the jet broke apart.

I think that everyone is becoming the opposite of what they were.
Kate the fugitive- the law
Jack the screw-up - the leader
Locke the invalid - the mighty hunter
Michael the absentee father - a real father
'?
ooooooooo, youre right!
I thought that maybe Jack went through med school but stopped short of actually becoming a DR, since his dad told him You dont have what it takes. And when his mom told him to go get his father, saying 'after what you did to your father, you dont get to say I cant'. Meaning, he did something to his father??

Thanks - I'll try and do it every week...my DH is really good at things like this show.
I also think the Korean couple is either just newly married (like arranged marriage if they do that) or he forced her to marry him....at one point he made a comment about 'that is what a husband does for his wife' . Seemed out of whatck to me. ANd in the scenes of Jack in the airport the Korean guy is by himself waiting on line...i think there is a lot more to the story...its also quite obvious that the woman has the hots for Walts Dad.
I look for the little things (like the book he is reading) because the creator of the show said that there are a lot of little htings you will see that are connected to the storyline that you won't realize.....that is why we look at everythiing.....

I think his father is alive - only in Jacks mind though. Jack has apparently some unfinished business when it comes to his father and no one else has seen this guy. That is why i think the island brings people fantasys alive. Like Locke being able to walk again and hunt and Jack having a 'last time' with his father for reasons i am unsure of. Also Kate is free, Walts dad can be the father to his son that he has not been as of yet. Unable to figure out the other people as of yet.

Is this is true then what about other people's fantasies? It seems that all Sayid wants to do is get off the island; I guess Sawyer's came true--he's no longer the bad guy after Boone stole the water. Did you notice that when Boone yelled at Jack, he mentioned that he had run a business back in the US? How he could be a leader? Seems the opposite is happening for him.
I also keep returning to their names:
We've got Boone, Sawyer and Walt all American icons. Then the name Sayyid is a title for a descendant of Muhammad (apparently sayyids are gifted with learning and sanctity from birth); Shannon (river in Ireland) and then I loose any guide of pattern. Besides the fact that Jack and Kate are each four lettered names.

What about Jack and Lord of the Flies? I find myself drawing comparisons to the book at times.

Re: Last Nights LOST......
Found this online:'The whole concept of man on an island reminds us of who we truly are. 'Three days ago we all died. We should all be able to start over,' Jack says. Who they were before the crash was their old nature. This time on the island represents their chance at redemption -- if they want it. When stripped of the conventions of society, without the veneer of civilization, are we the cast of Lord of the Flies waiting to happen or can we rise above our basic nature? Terry O’Quinn’s character, when talking about backgammon, explains, 'there are two players: one is light and one is dark,' echoing the sentiment that there are ultimately two sides, good and evil. The mysterious creature on the island reminds me of the Bible passage 'Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour' (I Peter 5:8).'

Update from Sis-in-law that writes from the show. I was giving everyone's speculation and she just laughed. She told me there is no way to figure it out since they change it up each time. You think its one thing, then it becomes another. She did say to watch episode 5 that is will be unlike anything you have ever seen on TV and blow us away. She get a scene in last nights show- she wrote the scene when the pregnant girl asks the other her sign. Very exciting stuff for me!!!!

so no point of trying to figure things out since the writers themselves dont know yet, I guess they just go with the flow
