Last Nights LOST......
So what do you ladies think? I am so LOST, I am not sure what is going on. I love the show and am anxious to learn what is going to happen next. A friend of mine thinks that maybe they are in pergutory. I don't think so because basic human needs aren't met in pergutory. What do you ladies think?

Re: Last Nights LOST......
i dont think they are in purgatory....i do think they are in some sort of alternate universe - i was going to say the bermuda triangle but they were flying from Australia so thats no where near there....plus last night they said they have been there for 6 days already - i wonder if that is some sort of clue and has a symbolic meaning - and how creepy was it when his father led him to the waterfall and his body wasn't in the coffin!

I think he needed to deal with his father's death and almost 'Release' his soul. But, W T F happened to the body?

I thought that the airline just put the coffin on....without the body. They couldn't send the body without the documentation, but the ticket lady felt bad after Jack's little meltdown and tried to at least get the casket on the plane (without telling Jack?) hoping that no one would open the casket to check.
That's why he surprised that it was empty.
i thought that too.
I love Matthew Fox! How sad / cute did he look when he was crying!

Re: Last Nights LOST......
But didn't you notice the 'victorian dolls' at the waterfall near the coffin? It was very dark, but I don't think that the coffin is his father's or that the tail they saw is the back of the plane. I think they are going to start finding the remanants of the other plane that crashed before them--at least I think it is another plane that crashed before them, and possibly other people who somehow ended up on that island.I also think that Jack may of either lost his medical license as a result of killing someone on the operating table, or he turned his father into some sort of medical ethics board. I've been trying to figure out what Jack could have done to his father that his mother was able to guilt him into going and finding his father in Australia. By the way, isn't it interesting in how all of the people had to go to Australia for some sort of purpose?
I still don't think everything is going to be okay with Claire's baby; that Michael may of kidnapped Walt and that Sun, the Korean woman, understands and can speak a little English.
I also think that Locke is going to become a shaman like character (though the more I watch this show, I see all of these parallels between him and Kurtz in Apocalypse Now).

Did anyone notice the tatoo on one of the guy's arms that said 'Life is easy when your eyes are closed' or something like that. What do you think that means? Maybe they're all dreaming?

I think that everyone is becoming the opposite of what they were.
Kate the fugitive- the law
Jack the screw-up - the leader
Locke the invalid - the mighty hunter
Michael the absentee father - a real father
but it's more than that...I think the island brings out the qualities and instincts that were either willfully supressed or lying dormant. So maybe, the Island is 'the real world'?
Ooh...that's good. Another hypothesis to add to the growing list. I wonder then if Claire was a surrogate and now she'll be a real mother and that Shannon, will stop being annoying, and will be a good person

that was my first thought when they showed that part of a plane, it just looks kinda too old and the plants were growing in it, just seems like it has been there for a long time...

Yes .. 'Jack' was 'Charlie' on Party of Five .. in the first episode of Lost .. when 'Charlie' was introduced .. it was weird .. because 'Jack' was 'Charlie' on Party of Five .. made me feel like they should have chosen a different character name on Lost instead of 'Charlie.' (Does that make sense??)

I have to admit, the show is interesting .. but I'm surprised at just how much people are embracing it.
As for the body missing from the coffin .. I didn't think too much into it .. seems like in this show you have to patiently wait for answers sometimes .. I remember back to when people were coming up with all sorts of weird scenarios after the first time they actually showed the dog.
Is it impossible to think that the body somehow separated from the coffin at some point during the break-up and crash of the jet??

The coffin was locked, that is why Jack began to pound it with a stick. My other question is 'Why didn't we see something about the monster this week'? I need to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He definitely beat the coffin after her realized it was empty.
At first I thought that was a different plane that crashed, but they said that was 16 years ago! (that the distress call was playing for 16 years) Well did they ever say it was a plane crash? Wouldn't the dolls and other belongings eroded more after 16 years!
I also heard stories that one of the 'survivors' was there already there and was not on the plane crash we witnessed on the first episode...and yes I believe that their lives will all somehow prove to be connected.
I really love this show!
