Last straw (another work vent that you don't have to read if you don't want to)
Pharmacist in one store informs me last Thursday that I need to be at a staff meeting on Saturday, 2 days from then, and that the whole work schedule has changed for this week. He took me off hours, overlapped me with hours I was supposed to work elsewhere and pretty much made a mess of my life without ever asking me what my availkability was not one time.
Today, I get a call from pharmacist in another one of the FOUR stores I'm now working in in order to get full time hours each week, and he informs me that another tech needs to work Friday morning and that I'm on the schedule for Friday night. WHich means the only day this week I'm not working at night was TODAY and TODAY I have to go to a wake so I don't even get to sit home and relax tonight, I have to drive to Brooklyn.
Excuse me. NO. You do not COMMAND. I am not available to be at your every whim and beckon call just because someone ELSE wants a change. That person could have ASKED ME last week if I would switch shifts and I probably would had said fine. But you're not going to COMMAND me 3 days prior to change my whole day, cancel my plans and make me work BY MYSELF all night.
Not happening.
This is IS. I need out. These people think they can take advantage of me and I'm not taking it anymore.
If no one else is going to stick up for me, then I AM.
I'm sick of it.

I got a career builder email today for a tech position in a mail order pharmacy in Manhattan for $19 and hour. The first thing I did today when I got home was email the recruiter back with my resume. I haven't even peed yet. I hpe this works out in the meantime while I continue to look for a legal position because I am not going to survive at Rite Aid. I can't take the abuse fromt he customers or from my coworkers any more.
DONE.
