Is anyone having or had a late wedding? my ceremony is at 6 and my CH is at 8 with the reception including VH not ending to 1:30am. im starting to get nervous that alot of people might leave early? we're having it on a Saturday night so i think that might help with people leaving early but i'm still nervous that im gonna be cutting my cake to an empty room

Re: Late start times
I think you should be fine. We don't have a late start time...however, originally we were going to get married at the RH...so we had a ceremony start time of 6:30. We decided to get married at a Church though...so our ceremony is now at 2:00pm. However, we kept our original reception time....7pm to 1am.
Ours is a Saturday night too....I'm not too worried about it. I'm sure some people will leave early, but the people who want to be there til the end will be.

I think you'll be alright. My wedding went til 1 a.m. because of the VH. I still had tons of ppl there for cake cutting.

Re: Late start times
thanks ladies you've made me feel better about the late start time. i guess if people are gonna leave early they would regardless and there is nothing I can do about it except make it known on the invite that we're having a VH so maybe that will entice people to stay till the end

I don't have a VH, but my wedding doesn't end until 1a.m! .. I think it's okay... I mean, then there's no need for an after party? Then you can go straight to your room with your new husband!!!

Re: Late start times
our wedding was a Sat night and started at 7pm and went through 1am. some people started leaving after cake cutting (12:15) but most stayed through the band's very last song!

Re: Late start times
people who are having a good time are going to stay, and its not like you wil be cuitting your cake at 1am! you will be doing it around 11 and thats not too far off from a regular wedding. techinicall you are only starting an hour later. So the people that leave early are going to be the people that will always leave early no matter if you start at 6pm or 10pm!

Re: Late start times
don't worry about it!! a TON of the RH's i went to see had their night weddings set to end at that time on saturdays; it's really common. they wouldn't all be doing it if everyone was leaving all of the weddings too early to see the bride cut the cake!
