obsessed.

also, I am working on converting my weird cubby space in the kitchen in to a workstation for me.

I need ideas.

I cut down my stool last night (with a power saw, woot woot) so I can sit at the counter and work. I think I finally deserve to have my own space. 3.5 years later.

The only thing we really use that space for is storage and a bar when we have people over (which I can still do).

I know you got that cabinet for free (another woot woot to add to your awesomeness at power tool wielding) BUT...it's doesn't seem like it would be comfy sitting there too long with you legs unable to stretch out in front of you (at least for me, I would DIE)....

is it possible to replace that with two smaller storage cubes to place on either side, with your legs to have room in the middle? would the counter top stay up on it's own without the cabinets to support it? can you saw the cabinets down the middle and split them apart

also, you need pics there. something of you. something lovely. like you.

I don't know. This is the problem. I am scared that it won't and if I take that free cabinet out - and the whole thing falls to pieces. I will have to kick your azz, obviously.

I did think of taking the doors off, and then my feet can rest inside. But I can leave the doors on and do that also since I re-organized inside the cabinet and everything is stacked now at the back. And then I can close the doors when I am not sitting there. (like so)

What looks like draws above the cabinets - is just a draw front. That part does kinda get in the way...

Yeah I need pics and baskets that match. And like a green vase or something. I just put in there what I have right now.

directions for the switchplates

Re: Lauren, I took pics of the switchplates.

what if you took off the doors and replaces it with curtains of some kind.

this way, you can put your feet in but still have some sort of coverage so the insides of your cabinets are not constantly exposed (I must also add at this time that I HATE doored cabinets in general...for a bizarre reason that you al will never know )

and what about changing the shelving so that it's on the side walls, instead of on the wall infront of you...this way it will seem more open...can you saw that shelf in half and split it between the two side walls?

The switchplates look amazing.
You absolutely need to get rid of the cabinets- you have tons of height- use that for storage. I like the first pic you posted with the sliding cabinet up high. Ikea has things like that, I think.
Then just a few shleves underneath with some pretty storage boxes, magazine racks you can paper with whats her names stuff.

You need an 'inspiration' board- bigge rthan that corkboard. You should reserve a few feet of wall space right in your line of sight, cover that wall with those cork tiles wrapped in more of her fabric, you know- with like- ribbon criss corsses or whatever.

I think the space is too narrow. Like my head will feel constricted. I want to put some things on the walls though.

Something like this, but no weapons. I can put my do dads in the tins.

I am scared to mess too much with the cabinet. What if the house falls down around me. Do you have experience with this?

I need the pretty boxes and magazine racks. That's an Ikea trip. I love pretty boxes (). I just did this last night. Class was canceled and I felt like being productive with my time. I am over working at the kitchen table. I had that cork board in the laundry room. Maybe I do need a bigger one. I am totally covering it fabric though. I even pinned some on there that I have already.

She's crafty.

You should keep the weapons.

If you are not IO to losing the cabinet, what about getting shelf support brackets to hold the counter up?
