what are the laws for nassau county? a reception hall with the initials AW is literally harassing my sister calling her at work and home and from collection agencies saying she owes them money...she sent them a letter cancelling a few days before her 1 yr mark...she didn't ask for her deposit back...they have her deposit and are still harassing her. my sis had to get a lawyer but the calls won't stop. They had better back off before i take a trip there myself.
ETA: no offence to girls getting married there...but for how they handled this situation...I'm glad my sis didn't get married there.

I don't think Nassau has the same rules like Suffolk does.
It really depends on what her contract says -- it IS possible she owes them more than just her original deposit .... it also depends on whether they re-booked her date.
ETA: That doesn't excuse the harassment though ....

Nassau does not have the same rules as suffolk, nassau you have to go by the contract, I would still see a lawyer b/c of the harrassment~she could possibly still owe them money depending on what the contract states

Depends on the contract. If she is *covered*, then its harassment.
If she owes them money (i.e: the contact states that cancellation needs to made in 6 month etc etc), then they aren't harassing her.
