I KNOW that you cant give out legal advice but maybe you can FM me and just let me know if im right with this.

I mentioned in the other post that my moms boss is basically firing her and he said that she isnt 'Corporate America' which is BS. Anyway, he has been telling people either buisness affiliates and even the guy that handles his mortgage (because YES My mom does all his personal crap as well) that he is firing my mom because she doesnt fit the mold and that she isnt Corporate America.

He is allowed to do this? I feel like that is defermation of character. Though my mom would have to prove it. Who is he to tell every tom diick and harry why she is not going to be working there anymore. These could be possible employers for my mom since she could look for a job in a similar field.

Defamation - I mean, you could try to do something, but you would usually have to prove damages; either monetary or loss of business, etc.

If there are no 'physical/real' damages - there really is no point

Yeah, he's wrong....but, ppl do NOT have to be nice, unfortunately

My FH is a labor and employment attorney, I'll ask him when he gets home, and FM you. He deals with cases like this all the time.
