Okay, I am learning that so far my bride style is very laid back, which is weird since in my day to day life I am a raving lunatic. lol I see all of you ladies write about all of the progress you have made so far and I have well, nothing. lol
I haven't looked at a single venue yet, I thought I had an a idea as far as a month but not sure about that yet anymore. All I have figured out is the groom!
People keeps asking the date and I have nothing to tell them. So, I have started to interview wedding planners, I figure having some guidance and someone to watch the budget would be helpful.
Hopefully, I will eventually narrow down the month, county, venue.. lol

Re: Lazy bride
I was a lazy bride for a while too.. I think it has a lot to do with the length of the engagement.
Good news is you have the important part figured out.. the groom!

Re: Lazy bride
You have plenty of time. I have tried to start early mainly because I have a very busy job and I work ALOT of hours. Also, my FH works nights so it is hard with our schedule to meet with people together.
Who have you met with for Coordinators? Are you doing a day of coordinator or full out wedding planner?
I have met with Gina at Bleu Diamond, Ryan at Above and Beyond and Laura at Modern Affairs. I have appointments with more this week.

Lazy?! You've been engaged for less than a month! We'd been engaged for over 6 months before we starting looking at RHs and set a date. It's now been ten and a half months, and all we have is the RH and an officiant.
For the first 6 months, whenever someone asked about the date, I'd say 'sometime before the baby comes'. (Technically that's true...) It was always fun to seem them react
Try starting with a tentative guest list and budget. That can help you narrow down what places and days/month might work for you.
that a HILARIOUS answer!

I am looking for a full out wedding planner, I think I would enjoy having staff. So far I have met with Francesca at Dazzling Affairs and Cindy at Cynthia Ross both were great.

That is hilarious! I am totally going to steal your line. Love it.
I know I have time and everything will get done it is just starting to become a little more real especially since we are now talking possibly Jan 12 which is just over one year.

Re: Lazy bride
I think in some ways a lazy bride is the way to be... we should totally be enjoying the engagement. I've been very hands off for a few reasons, but when I get too into it I get frustrated that I'm not further along and FH is just like don't worry about it, it'll be fantastic... so then I continue to be laid back and try to enjoy putting it together :)

Don't worry, I was the lazzzzziest bride! I didn't book my florist until like 3 months before the wedding kinda lazy. Don't let anyone rush you- go at your own pace. You have OODLES of time!

Re: Lazy bride
Oh no worries!!! I know what you mean about people asking about a date.... I thought it was weird the day after I was engaged people were asking if i set a date! I was like 'relax people'! So don't feel rushed...only reason I figured out a venue so quickly was because I was nervous I'd miss out on the date I wanted at the place I wanted! I live in FL so I had my parents running around for me....doing the dirty work! So good luck, we are all here to help!

Exactly!! I swear so many people at work were asking and it was like ummmmm I just got engaged LAST NIGHT!! lol I guess some people talk about the engagement/wedding before it happens so maybe thats why? Mine was a total surprise though
