Leaf Cookies

Leaf Cookies

This is a dumb question, but you know the cookies in the bakery that are shaped like a leaf. They are usually red or green. Does anyone know where I can get a recipe for them or what the real name of the cookie is? They are my FH's favorite. Thanks girls!

god, I know what you're talking about, but I have no clue what the real name is...I'll try to look it up quick on my favorite recipe site.

Re: Leaf Cookies

I have searched every recipe site for them and I cant find them. It is making me crazy! Of course my FH is no help, his birthday is next week and all I keep hearing is how great it would be to have them on his birthday. I may have to resort to buying them!

Re: Leaf Cookies

I'm not even positive there would be such a recipe. This is what I figure you'd have to do:

1) Bake butter cookies (like these: http://cookie.allrecipes.com/az/CutOutBttr.asp) and add green dye to the recipe

2) Use a leaf-shaped cookie cutter and bake off the cookies

3) Let the cookies cool, then melt some chocolate (I'm thinking dark chocolate, most likely)

4)Place one cookie upside-down and put thin layer of chocolate on the inside and sandwich it with another cookie

5)Refrigerate the cookies until the chocolate hardens
