Can you please tell me how the names were put on the place cards? Did the couple use labels, print them or had calligraphy? There's no way I can print the names in my printer, the cardstock is too thick...any suggestions?

They were hand written.

They gave me the blank cards that you can write the names on, but im having my own printed
