Leonard's....A wedding factory???

Original post by JPC1125

Hi fellow bride-2-be's

Just wanted to see what the general consensus is on Leonard's in Great Neck.

I havent been yet but it looks bee-u-tiful online. However, someone told me that its very much like a wedding factory and can hold several receptions at the same time.

My Future Husband's aunt got married there years ago but had 700 guests and therefore rented the whole hall.

So, please, if youve ever been to Leonard's or been a guest at a wedding there, help me decide if I should take a trip there to check it out.

Thanks a bunch!

so question for the girls having reception at leonard's: do you plan to decorate the room for the coctail hour, I mean with centerpieces and do you plan on hiring musicians for the coctail hour (we will be having a DJ)

Well we finally visited it. Me, FH, mom, mom in law, and grandma in law all went for the tour and as beautiful as it was, it was lacking something.
I still cant pinpoint it.

Sux, cause my Father-in law knows the managers and we couldve gotten a great price but i know i wouldnt have been happy having my reception there.

Im not faulting anyone who does pick it, it just didnt click for me.

Everyone, thanks so much for all the advice. I knew joining this board would be a great thing!!!

PS...booked with Crest Hollow Sat.....finally we have a wedding date :

November 25th 2005!!!!

everyone likes different things and expect different things, it would be boring if everyone did everything the same right?
congratulations on finding a place for your reception

I have only been there for a food and wine tasting. It was nice, but not really my style. I thought it was a littel dated, but that's JMO. I would say that no place is a waste to go check out. Everything is an option in my book!
