Leonard's....A wedding factory???

Leonard's....A wedding factory???

Hi fellow bride-2-be's

Just wanted to see what the general consensus is on Leonard's in Great Neck.

I havent been yet but it looks bee-u-tiful online. However, someone told me that its very much like a wedding factory and can hold several receptions at the same time.

My Future Husband's aunt got married there years ago but had 700 guests and therefore rented the whole hall.

So, please, if youve ever been to Leonard's or been a guest at a wedding there, help me decide if I should take a trip there to check it out.

Thanks a bunch!

Its true that some people say that, but people say that about other places too. I personally think the place is really nice. I used to work there and I stuffed my face in the kitchen - so the food must be good. I dont usually like 'catering hall' food. I think its worth it for you to take a trip and make your own decision about it.

Went there for a communion party- it was a very pretty place! I don't remember much else about it though!

It does hold a number of events (weddings or other) at the same time so if you're looking for a private affair, Leonards would not be your place. But, if you don't care about that then don't let what other people say deter you from at least seeing it.

I booked Leonards and am not concerned about too many weddings. I have the upstairs room and felt that I will be seperated from the other affairs. I believe they work hard to make sure that it will all work out. Congratulations!

I booked a room at Leonards. At fist I was very concerned, they definatley can have lots of weddings at the same time - and so can be considered as a factory. However, I have friends who attended weddings there, and they say their experience was very positive. They said, Leonards, made them feel like they are the only wedding there.

Personally I thought it was beautiful, and the place is SO big, that it can hold these weddings simultaniosly. So, I booked it...

I too was concerned about that amount of weddings they hold at one time (they can have a maximum of 6).

But I was luckt to get the entire floor (large room) for my wedding. It's on a friday in April so it's not a busy time for them.

I loved it when I saw it the 1st time...the 2nd time I went to actually book....but I didn't because no joke, there were 3 brides just strolling around in the lobby! (if you guys remember, there is only one set of bathrooms which are next to the bridal suites on the 1st floor which leads to major traffic).

But....I still feel it is one of the MOST beautiful places on LI to get married...it just depends on what you want...I know people who have gotten lucky (like Fashionhang) and there weren' t too many other parties on the same day....

I just wanted to be one bride at a time...what can I say, I love attention:) GOOD LUCK!

I think there are many places that are like that. If you feel like the place is right for you then you should book. I am not concerned about being the only bride because to the people who are important to me I am

Thanks for all the stories and advice.

Im just the type of person who wants all the information before they decide something.
Most times, if I see something first, I just want it. Don't want to make rash decisions like that when it comes to our wedding.

I probably will go check it out this weekend.

Thanks ladies!

I think a lot has to do with the people as well... if you have great music and people ready to have fun, the reception is going to be a blast... also, we went to leonard's today and the place smelled soooo good, so I assume they have great food (their menu looks awesome)... I am so excited that I have made my decision

I'm one of those who thinks every place has its 'magic'. And what works for one person, may not for the other so the best thing that I can advise you is for you to go and see all of the places you think you may like. Sometimes pictures and websites can be a bit deceiving and I'm speaking from experience here. So make a list, make appointments and enjoy visiting all those places. I find this is the only way to find out and make an informed and beneficial decision for you and FH. Happy Planning!!!

you cant make all the guests happy, there will always be someone that finds something wrong with your day... so my advise is to plan the day so you are happy with it and you enjoy it

Re: Leonard's....A wedding factory???

I just attended a wedding there this past weekend. It was in the room upstairs-very pretty room. The dinner was delish, very very good-cocktail hour- ehh. There was a very large wedding going on downstairs and when we arrived we did see a number of bridal parties taking pictures, but overall I think the place is beautiful and the service was good too. Hope this helps. FM me if u have any questions.

I looked at Leonard's and liked the look of it. It was busy with weddings while I was there but I was willing to give it a shot. So, I scheduled a food tasting and I must admit I was a little disappointed...I ended up not booking there. You should check it out thought and def. get a food tasting if you decide to go with it. Everyone has a different taste. Good luck!

I went to the food tasting as well but it was only the coctail hour food. I have heard wonderful things about the food there and am not worried about it

My whole family and FH family went to a food tasting in the spring and we all thought the food was incredible. Everyone agreed! My family is very picky about food and are really good cooks. I so don't understand how you thought the food wasn't great. I've been to other tastings and none was as good as Leonard's. They were also so accomodating too. They even brought me a watermelon martini, which they said they didn't have at first. I thought that was really sweet.
