lessing caterers

so has anyone used Lessing? i've heard not so good things about them and wanna get some more feed back....

also i had a different caterer that said he DIDNT do tastings cause he's Zagat rated- have you girls run into this problem? cause i think thats insane- i need to taste the food, thats one of the most important things at a wedding for me

I think with the Lessings it all depends on where you go. I looked at one (I forgot the name) inn Bright Waters and it was ok but I just felt like the guy didn't really care if we booked or not. But I know the Riverview in Oakdale is really nice and the food is good. Look at my place too they are on here too. He was extremely affordable and totally works with you.

I actually heard the opposite. Im having my wedding at Tall Grass (Lessings) and they're awesome. Our BM is very nice, he really helped us out and worked with us in every way. The food is great. We also met the owner at their $5000 giveaway event recently and they're all nice people. We once again tried the food then and everything was great.

We went to look at one Lessings RH for our wedding and the BM gave us a food tasting the night we came to visit (because there was an e-party there). Anyway, the food was TERRIFIC but it was a little cold (the food wasn't prepared on the premises - it was delivered).

I have heard the opposite as well and I'm getting married at Tall Grass CC. I've had no issues with them (until now but that's a long story - and they are working with me). I had a tasting and the food was good.
I also went to a wedding at the Three Village Inn and the food was excellent and the place was very nice.

We went to see two of the Lessing places and both general managers we spoke with were very, very nice. They also were extremely flexible and accomodating. We ended up not going with either of the places and we felt really bad because both gen. managers were so nice. We just didn't care for the facilities.

I used to work at a Lessings property in high school...the West Sayville Country Club. The place had great food and the manager was nice to his employees which is always a good thing! People didn't seem to have many complaints then and I haven't seen any really on these boards

Lessing's food is awesome! Check out babybug631 profile and there is a link to her review. After the wedding my parents got so many compliments regarding the food.
